Patti LuPone to Hit '30 Rock'

Patti LuPone in "Gypsy"

Patti LuPone Official Website

Stage legend Patti LuPone will soon be gracing the small screen!

Like many other high-profile entertainers, the Tony-winning actress will be guest starring on the NBC comedy "30 Rock," playing the mother of eccentric writer Frank (played by Judah Friedlander), reports Entertainment Weekly. There’s no word yet on how many shows will feature the 59-year-old actress.

LuPone has captivated theater audiences for more than three decades. The Julliard-trained actress is most remembered for her Tony Award-winning role in Broadway’s "Evita," but her résumé boasts a long list of both Broadway and off-Broadway productions. She was in such works as "The Cradle Will Rock," "The School for Scandal," "LBJ," "The Time of Your Life," "Anything Goes," "Sweeney Todd" and "Passion." In 1995, she starred in a one-woman show, "Patti LuPone on Broadway," and her most recent stage appearance in "Gypsy" was a Broadway smash.

Pa tti LuPone is enormously talented and tenacious. Check the audio of her address to audience member who tried photographing during her ‘Gypsy’ performance. This was Broadway! What WAS that person thinking? Go, Patti. She essentially was protecting the audience’s experience. Peace and grace
