Is the Beloved Paul Newman Terminally Ill?

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

The Internet is lighting up today with concern for the health of screen legend Paul Newman. The 83-year old actor, one of the most important Hollywood actors of his generation, was photographed on Friday in a wheelchair leaving a New York cancer hospital. United Press International, as well as the Los Angeles Times and U.K.’s Daily Mail, are reporting that he has only weeks to live.

Recent photographs show him looking gaunt, and in May ‘08 he dropped out of his stage directorial debut with the Westport Country Playhouse, citing health concerns.

In addition to a film career that spans more than 50 years, Newman is the philanthropic entrepreneur behind the Newman’s Own line of foods. Profits from the sales of these products go to charity; by 2006, more than $200 million dollars were donated by the company.

In his professional and private life, Paul Newman has defined and refined the word mensch. Let’s hope that the press and public live up to his example, should this sad report be true.

the picture showing is at a race track, oh to remember seeing him race when i was a teenager, at the race track in ohio about 3 miles from where i grew up. always dreamed of seeing him up close but for this farm girl, one of 8 in the family we only got to watch from the side road. he has lived a seemingly wonderful long life.

if he does indeed have cancer, he should be allowed to keep his dignity…loved him in ‘cool hand luke’…please, media folks..dont make another billboard figure out of this man and sensationalize his illness like you did rock hudson, john wayne, etc…even ‘movie’ stars have a right to privacy…personally i hope nothing is wrong…hate to lose another great human being….
