Peggy, I was teaching ninth graders in Brunswick,Georgia in 1962 when John Glenn circled the earth three orbits. The students and I “heard” about Glenn’s fate over the intercom system during class. When Glenn traveled to outer space the second time during the ’90s, my students and I “watched” John Glenn make space history again. I really felt like a “senior citizen” after that day.
