Photo Surfaces of John Edwards Holding His 'Love Child'

By The Staff at wowOwow.com
National Enquirer

In July, wowOwow.com was one of the first media outlets to question why the mainstream media was ignoring the National Enquirer-fueled Internet sensation of John Edwards visiting the mother of a child reported to be his. Some outlets said it was a private affair. Others sniffed at the source, the National Enquirer, ignoring the fact that many of the racy tabloid’s other stories have been credited by major news outlets, including the lofty New York Times — on their front page.

But not this story.

The story escalated yesterday, with the Enquirer releasing a "spy photo" that shows the former vice-presidential candidate allegedly holding the infant, Frances Quinn Hunter, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, where Rielle Hunter — the baby’s mother and Edwards’s purported mistress — was checked in.

This time, the story is percolating up from the web to mainstream newspapers such as the Philadelphia Inquirer and Dallas Morning News.

For the devotees of drama, here is the recap:

In July, National Enquirer reporters caught ex-Sen. John Edwards visiting his alleged love child and his mistress, Rielle Hunter, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. In an almost surreal scene described on the Enquirer’s website, Edwards was said to have fled to a men’s room, pushing against a door while the reporters pushed in and asked questions from the other side. Then, Fox News confirmed that Edwards was in fact at the hotel trying desperately to dodge reporters. For many reasons, we hope this story isn’t true …

However, to further prove the veracity of the Enquirer story, their reporters found on the hotel’s website a picture of the room’s curtains to show that the beige-colored window treatments match the photograph. Click here to visit the Beverly Hilton Hotel’s website and to see the photographs of the rooms.

I do hope this story is not true. I think Ms. Edwards has suffered enough in her lifetime. If it is true, let it be a private matter between her and her husband. I don’t want to see her pain. I don’t need to see her pain. But most of all she doesn’t need us to see her pain..

I so hope this isn’t true. As for why mainstream media has layed low on covering this story…out of respect for Elizabeth, I would like to believe.

Could it be that the mainstream media is ignoring the National Enquirer’s allegations because: (A) it’s the National Enquirer; and (B) it is just a B.S. Allegation?!?!?! Let’s not promote reporting sources that give us nothing but unfounded B.S. Let’s not help spread lies. Also, what goes on in the private lives of people is not our business. I happen to believe that John Edwards loves his wife so much, that he would never go outside of his marriage. But if he did, it’s not my business. It’s not yours. I don’t care what Kennedy did, what Clinton did, or what any person in a political office does in their private lives. I want someone who can lead and run this country, and what they do behind closed doors, I could care less. I don’t want the government or the media or my neighbors in my bedroom. Do you?

Your words made me laugh, and no, I don’t want anyone but Mr. Kitty in my bedroom.
(I don’t like it when people point and laugh.)

I agree. He’s not running for president, which would be important, and it is simply none of our business. I hate to see us pointing and saying what is going to be said. And, my heart breaks for Elizabeth Edwards and their kids.

Again, Diana if it’s true!

I also feel that what happens in someone’s private life is private until they make it public. If we are asking someone to run our Country then we have ever right to know what goes on behind their closed doors. I mean if McCain was KKK or Obama really is a Muslim, that would hinder your vote I am sure as it would mine! I do not feel that the story is true about John Edwards and pray that its not. He is the one person I feel would be best at being President and was truly sad when he dropped out of the race. The only way I would vote for Obama is if JE was his VP.

Hi CO,

Being a KKK member should certainly be of interest to voters, in that they promote acts of violence and other unlawful conduct. Being Muslim, Christian, Jewish, or Hindu should not be a criteria for electing who will lead our country. I have no way of knowing whether these allegations of Edwards affair and/or love child are true, nor do you. Furthermore, it is of little interest to me in making my decision as to who is best qualified to lead this country.

I agree N P. To equate being a member of the KKK with being a Muslim is absolutely wrong. Unfortunately, there are too many Americans who think like that.

Hi De Burca,
Nice to hear from you.
Looks like the Wow team has put up some new threads, something other than on Edwards. Good.
Hope you have a good week, and are enjoying the Olympics.

What is a private life? Being a member of a hate group is a necessary piece of information to know about a candidate.
Religion is not. Some of our founding fathers were agnostics and atheists, and it was no impediment to their political performance.
Sex life? Not relevant.
I’m a little disturbed that your comment puts membership in the KKK in the same sentence as being a Muslim. Most Muslim people I know are exemplary human beings.
Does the fact that I’m Irish make you think that I’m in the IRA?

Ah, yes Kitty O’Keefe, a nice Irish cailín… you may appreciate this joke which was told to me by my husband who is from Dublin, lest anyone suggest I am not being pc….

Did you hear the one about the Irish boomerang?

It doesn’t come back, but it sings about how it wants to.

It’s still the National Enquirer—and anything they publish is immediately or should be suspect on all accounts. Let alone read by anyone with an IQ above 40

Frank,

I’m with you and NP on this one. I will have to be labeled as one of those that “sniffs at the source,” until I’m proven to believe otherwise. Time will tell this tale.
