Photo Surfaces of John Edwards Holding His 'Love Child'

By The Staff at wowOwow.com
National Enquirer

In July, wowOwow.com was one of the first media outlets to question why the mainstream media was ignoring the National Enquirer-fueled Internet sensation of John Edwards visiting the mother of a child reported to be his. Some outlets said it was a private affair. Others sniffed at the source, the National Enquirer, ignoring the fact that many of the racy tabloid’s other stories have been credited by major news outlets, including the lofty New York Times — on their front page.

But not this story.

The story escalated yesterday, with the Enquirer releasing a "spy photo" that shows the former vice-presidential candidate allegedly holding the infant, Frances Quinn Hunter, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, where Rielle Hunter — the baby’s mother and Edwards’s purported mistress — was checked in.

This time, the story is percolating up from the web to mainstream newspapers such as the Philadelphia Inquirer and Dallas Morning News.

For the devotees of drama, here is the recap:

In July, National Enquirer reporters caught ex-Sen. John Edwards visiting his alleged love child and his mistress, Rielle Hunter, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. In an almost surreal scene described on the Enquirer’s website, Edwards was said to have fled to a men’s room, pushing against a door while the reporters pushed in and asked questions from the other side. Then, Fox News confirmed that Edwards was in fact at the hotel trying desperately to dodge reporters. For many reasons, we hope this story isn’t true …

However, to further prove the veracity of the Enquirer story, their reporters found on the hotel’s website a picture of the room’s curtains to show that the beige-colored window treatments match the photograph. Click here to visit the Beverly Hilton Hotel’s website and to see the photographs of the rooms.

When I was Much younger, my mum read the Enquirer. Back then it was, as I recall, “America’s Liveliest Newspaper” & full of stories along the lines of “Man Eats Neighbor’s Heart for Lunch!” Now, instead of going after neighbor’s body parts, the Enquirer is going after politician’s reputations.

Donna, when I was young, my mother used to FAN a collection of National Enquirers on our living room coffee table! Also, she thought everything in it HAD to be true because “if it wasn’t true they couldn’t print it”! Needless to say there were many teenage eye rolls over it!

Interesting that this story doesn’t go away. I saw two versions of it on our TV today.. Also saw a news item on a main channel news report that John Edwards will NOT be a speaker at the Democratic Convention and that he is no longer on the Obama list of potential VP Candidates. Anyone else hear this on the news today??

Doesn’t even look like him. National Inquirer has nothing positive to it’s credit and never has.

I just want the whole thing to go away, I am sure John does too. Where do they get all these wild stories? I can’t imagine what Elizabeth must feel. How many photos are there on file with politicians holding a baby? It’s the oldest political move on the trail, next we will see Mc Cain cooing with a baby and ………….voila!

When we, as individuals, cease supporting the magazines, papers, and t.v. programs devoted to revealing the most intimate pictures and information about famous people they will lose their audience. But, in this age of instant information it is a sign of the times. How fortunate those of us without fame are of no interest.

Here we are…and he has just admitted the affair, but denies Fathering the child, though he hasn’t taken a paternity test. I’m speechless.

I just heard it too, he admitted the affair . Was I a naive dummy again? Jeez…I did not believe that trash. Well, it is his business and his wifes. Sad that we do not have more honor in a commitment.

Well, it turns out to be true, so, SHAME ON HIM ! No excuses, no explainations, no weaseling, no ” I did not have sex with that woman….. ” Admit it and move on. Now for Elizabeth, I wish you strength, dear woman. I guess things have turned out for the best, candidate wise. No more “Clinton” moments, from the Clintons or the Edwards.

I just don’t get.. don’t these guys running for president KNOW THEYLL GET CAUGHT. for crying out loud they are supposed to be smart! I’ve been waiting for both McCain AND Obama’s affairs to surface. McCain absolutely. he was a well known womanizer. And while Obama is somewhat of a mystery he is to damn good looking for his own good and to darn charming for his own good. I said to my best friend a few weeks ago that i’d be shocked if he isn’t a player. For one thing… when it comes down to it… men look for power and money to GET WOMEN. They start as teenagers with nice cars to get the girls… then they move on to good jobs and money and power as they grow older. But it never ceases to be about getting laid for them. But for gawds sake… if you’re going to run for president remember that you’ll get caught!

This was just painful for me. Eight years ago I was campaign director for a man I believed in. When the campaign started, I said “Okay, lets drag the skeletons out now, before our opponet does…I don’t like surprises.” He swore on the lives of his three children that there were none. For over a year I worked seven days a week, sixteen and eighteen hours a day, and I wasn’t alone. He had scores of volunteers who believed in him as well. Then…seven days before the election…I woke up as usual, drove to my little country store wearing my trench coat over pajamas…walked in, and the owner, who knew me and my work well…stood there with a horrified look on his face. He pushed the local papers carefully across the counter…and there it was…my candidate’s picture on every front page…years before I knew him he had been the focus of his secretary’s disappearance…(she was found, alive, but had attempted suicide) their affair was exposed in these articles, how he tried to cover up her disappearance etc. He had been able, in his position of power, to keep all of this hidden. A young reporter, using FOIA, had exposed it all. I remember going back to my house and having a Bloody Mary at seven in the morning, feeling awful for his family, the people who had believed, and I realized I had wasted over a year of my life working for a liar and a cheater. So, I shouldn’t be surprised by Edwards…but oddly enough…I am.
