A Powerful Cosmic Opportunity Is Upon Us, by Peggy Rometo

By Peggy Rometo

There is a solar eclipse with the new moon in Aquarius coming on January 26. When a solar eclipse appears, we will most notably experience  sudden shifts in our life. These shifts may correspond to a valued relationship, career, responsibility, fear or way of thinking that will be leaving or ending. Eclipses are not usually stand-alone events. Review the last 12 months of your life and look at the last two eclipses. Did anything significant happen around these dates? There was a solar eclipse (new moon) on February 6, 2008, and a lunar eclipse (full moon) on August 16, 2008. The upcoming solar eclipse (new moon) will take place on January 26 and the lunar eclipse (full moon) will take place on August 5, 2009. Generally speaking, eclipses create a chain of events that unfold over time. If you can recall events that have been building along these time frames you may get a better sense of what’s in store for you.

While you may not be able to chart where the eclipse falls in relation to your own birth, you will be affected accordingly. A radical change can happen and you may feel an immediate freedom from burden. You may be released from a financial obligation, offered a new job or given a raise. A business opportunity may come back around or be put back together. These are all just a few examples of what is possible.

Some people may experience this as a challenging period. A lot of times these shifts are unexpected, so, for example, when someone breaks up with us, we lose our job or we are no longer needed to care for someone because they have passed or no longer need our services, these can all be felt initially as shocking and painful. During these times, we need to be reminded that this is the Universe’s way of pushing us to change and to embrace the next best thing. Most people don’t like change or find it uncomfortable. So, initially, it can be perceived as a problem, challenge, headache or heartache. Hopefully, with the passing of time you’ll see this as a blessing in disguise. For some, however, it will be immediate relief with no downside and only positive potential will be shown.

I believe that we are given the Zodiac as a template or map, and that our ultimate goal is to rise above what our sign has in store for us and to enhance our positive attributes and to transform our negative aspects so that we may ultimately create our own reality. Enjoy and appreciate this powerful cosmic opportunity!

I agree with this, and would like to hear your thoughts also on the equinox and soltice influences and how they are influenced if any by eclipses. My mother was religous outwardly, but could read the sky incredibly well, and never missed on the first day of spring setting an egg on end, she was Norwegian and American Indian, and my dad was Irish and American Indian, both looked to nature for answers. So I tend to follow the planting, harvesting, resting of what you want in life. Blessings, Linda

I would like to hear Peggy’s thoughts on the Precession of the Equinox, too. In relation to the question; the two most shaping events of my life in the last year happened near February 6, 2008 [when I shattered my foot and met four men separately but as a direct result who were helpful to me] And two weeks before August 16, 2008 my brother committed suicide. Three generations of our family are still reeling, and undoubtedly this will be the biggest tragedy of all of our lives. He was a very successful, sweet, down to earth witty guy, with many close friends, and no one had a clue this could possibly happen. It is still very surreal and nearly impossible to believe. As a result of his death, I’ve relocated back to Carmel after over a decade in San Francisco. Am very glad to be here despite the motivation to come.

I really would like to know if Peggy can tell me why some people continuously have bad or so called challenging events in their lives. I don’t seem to have to wait for an eclipse, things happen in any month and on any day. I really try to be positive in life and try to think positive thoughts. If Peggy thinks a really positive shift lies over the hill and in my path, I plan on standing and cheering. That would be really great.

Many times in the world right now, suicide does not represent trying to escape the pain of a physical life, but a stronger yearning to be together again with the other side for various reasons. A physical life that really felt as being complete, but a stronger desire to be of something else. Like thoughts cross the minds of many each day, who never choose to impose their demise through suicide. Caylee Anthony’s’ grandfather is one example in the news at this time, possibly coming from a sense of grief or feeling a need to continue to be a protector or lack of protection that was needed in this world. My mother died almost two weeks after her younger brother, she had always felt a need to protect him in life, and made statements to this universe to take her home. A physical reason for her literally stopping to exist between words of a conversation were never found, even after medical intervention was taken to bring her back into this world for a few days. She wanted to leave, and be a part of a larger group that had passed, in comparison to a smaller group that remained in this world. Suicide is usually thought of as a means to ending pain of existence, I believe at this time it is also connected to greater shifts of energy creating individuals to be truth, showing the truth of themselves in constant review, and choices being made which at a different time in life, the choice would not have existed. It is not only those seeking a spiritual path more consciously, everyone is affected. For many a choice to be a greater part of this energy, choosing suicide as the connecting point, and for others creating heinous acts not thought of before from a subconscious that has resurfaced, made constantly aware of in the conscious mind. Mortality not feared in the process. My mom, for years would join with almost a dozen other women on Thursday afternoons and go to lunch. Over the course of years preceding her death, the group had dwindled to two. Each time one of them passed, and many did so in their homes and were found later, she felt her mortality. Was having such a strong desire to leave this world, any different from taking herself out of this world in what would be considered a suicide, not really. She just left it too higher hands that she trusted, but the desire was with her. Not being about family, friends, financial considerations, or lack of love in this world, just a stronger pulling of her own energy to do otherwise. We can choose to see either a person’s desire as tragedy or a choice of release without taking personal responsibility or obligation for not having prevented that choice. Just my thoughts on suicide.

Yes Linda, a very individual thing. I know exactly why my brother did it because he sent us all a loving and clear explanation….and it is a horrible tragedy born out of his too pronounced sense of responsibility.

Happy Chinese New Ox Year on this most auspicious day. To my co-WoWers, I breathe from my heart to yours: the humor to withstand winds of change, strong ankles to make our steps steady and secure, songs of power for healing and lightness of feeling to sprinkle as fairy dust. It’s a good day to be alive. Thank you Peggy for expanding your contributions here.
