PRINCESS DIANA! Remember Her?

Liz Smith
U.S. newspapers are hot into the Democratic election process – and now they are even further into the governor of New York and his prostitution scandal, so maybe that’s why Americans are letting the late Princess Diana rest in peace.

I’m all for that, but it nags me that the so-called love of her life, Dr. Hasnat Khan, the heart surgeon she broke up with before taking up with the ill-fated Dodi Fayed, has spoken at last. And nobody stateside seems to have printed what this man said.

Dr. Khan spoke at Diana’s recent inquest and contradicted earlier claims that he was the one who had ended his two-year romance with the princess. “She is the one who said it was all over between us, but she denied that there was anyone else.” Before that, the two were dating and Dr. Khan told of their going to a pub for a drink. Diana wanted to order the drinks there because she had never done so before. Another time they visited the Ronnie Scott Jazz Club in Soho, London, and Diana wore a black wig to avoid being recognized.

Dr. Khan said he very much doubted that Diana would have become pregnant with Dodi “because she had always been very particular about taking the pill during our relationship.” Then he pronounced the accident that took Diana’s life as just that. “I think it was just a terrible accident, but I am very surprised she was not wearing a seatbelt. She was always very particular about putting a seatbelt on.”

The doctor dismissed any conspiracy theory about her death. “Although she did not like the Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Charles’ father), she never expressed any fear of him.”

So, that’s the latest. But the Diana inquest goes on. And on. And on.

I think Diana would be very proud of her boys. I am. I think we have the best of Diana in her sons.

Liz, I enjoy reading your articles in the “Palm Beach Post”. You recently mentioned a dinner that you had attended with a Florida psychic who talked about December 21, 2012. I emailed you to ask if you would be willing to give me her name, but to date, I have not heard a response from you. Thanks, Joanne Girard

Liz, not only do I remember Diana’s untimely death but I was in The UK when she got married. I bought a watch from Mappin and Webb, jewelers to Her Majesty. The face of the watch had her face and Charles’ face. A few years ago, I had electrical work done in my house and the watch was stolen. I still have the case that it came in and until this day, I am upset that the watch was stolen. It was not insured. I read about Lesley Stahl’s watch being stolen and I empathize with her. I am still hurt over it.

Thanks for the topic…. The longer i live the more jaded i become…i am a conspriacy therorist,….i believe JFK, RFK, and MLK, were all assinated by more than just the men who our government says did the deeds… As i believe Princess Di was also assissnated…Di’s death by a different governmen t than ours….reason unclear to me, maybe the royals didn’t want her to have a mixed baby….of middle eastern heritage… JFK…i believe was killed because of several reasons, one he was going to stop the elevation of the Viet Nam war….he went back on a campaign promise to the Chicago mob… and he pissed off Hoover, J. Edgar…. RFK….because of the mob and he was going after Hoffa… MLK….well, he was a tremendous threat to the white south, ie, black people becoming free, powerful and educated…. Anwar Sadat……because of possible peace in the middle east… Gandhi…..same as above…. Bhutto…..a change in the corrupt nation of Pakistan and the status quo…. All asassinations because of the possibility of peace and change in the status quo… the politics of corporate greed, corruption, neo/cons, conservatism, radical fundamentists, military complex, drugs from Afganistan, oil from the middle east, diamonds from Africa these are all interests that benefit the haves, or those in control, and continue to keep the have nots from gaining any individual power or control over their simple lives… And please note those who weren’t asassinated, Saddam, Osama bi Laden, Noriega, Pol Pot, many african dictators oppressing their peoples, the president of Venesuela, No.Korean leader, the Palestinian leader (deceased)… just to name a few, all these people are useful to U.S. monetary and banking interests.. … I know, i give myself a headache too!

Dear Liz, This may interest you and other participants. Friends of mine went to a famous astrologer for a gathering. One of the questions asked: Was Princess Diana early demise in her chart? He asked what did people call her all over the world? The answer Princess Dy (Over and over) He said what did you expect, words have so much power. To take it a little farther we have heard over and over gas prices are going to 4 dollars and what has happened this week. Perhaps we need to begin saying Peace, Peace all over the world all the time

Priness Diana was a nitwit that never understood that her only role was to produce an heir to the throne.

Princess Diana was a naive young woman who was chosen by the royal inbreds because she was good, virginal stock to reproduce an heir to the throne. She was easy to dupe into entering into a loveless marriage where she was assumed would make no demands and ask no questions. She believed the fantasies of her grandmother, Barbara Cartland’s romance novels and this illusion led her into the strange existence of palace prisoner. It was apparent to me, while watching the interview with her and her prince during their engagement, when he remarked “Whatever love is,” and she responsively answered “of course,” that there was a lack of feeling on his part that she was not fully realizing, or wishing to absorb. Her bubble was burst by the reality of marrying Prince Charles, her maturity was hard won. I believe she found purpose in her charity work as counterbalance to the glittery nonsense of the rest of her activities. It pulled her out of her life, perhaps validated her existence beyond producing heirs. Any conversation regarding Princess Diana or any celebrity is a momentary distraction; a diversion from the realities of focusing on the value and enjoyment of our own lives. However, I am sorry to see anyone’s life cut short when they have young children, even when they’re partially raised by nannies. That, ultimately, is the sad part of her passing.

QUOTE: “Typical insecure ugly-man mama’s-boy whiny pee-pants antics.” God, i LOVE that! lol….and so very true. That was great, Mamacita G. To this day, I still cry when I think of the beautiful woman lost to this world and her amazing sons…thank goodness her legend lives on inside of them and in our hearts.
