Queen Latifah to Play Gwen Ifill on 'SNL'
It seems inevitable that "Saturday Night Live" will perform a skit tonight that puts Thursday’s vice presidential debate in the spotlight.
Obviously, Tina Fey would play Sarah Palin, and People magazine confirmed that rapper/actress Queen Latifah would play the debate’s moderator, Gwen Ifill.
The first Tina Fey impression on "SNL" was a ratings knockout: It was the most-watched "SNL" since Dec. 2002, according to Reuter’s Hollywood Reporters. The real VP debate was just as entertaining: Thursday’s vice presidential debate was viewed by 69.9 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. It had 17.5 million more viewers than the Obama-McCain presidential debate on Sept 26.
"SNL" doesn’t finalize their lineups until moments before airtime. "SNL" airs on NBC Saturday’s at 11:30 pm/10:30c.
