Margo Howard Calls Rush Limbaugh a Fat Fool

Well, that didn’t take long. Obama’s been in office little more than a month and I am once more in banshee mode, alternately known as high dudgeon, about the Republicans (exempting a very few, like Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins). Republican leaders are calling it “irresponsible” to increase some taxes, along with the federal debt. Well, there is no choice! Why can’t these party hacks connect the dots and own up to the fact that these measures are necessary because George Bush, with Cheney pulling the strings, got us into this mess … mostly to help their big business buddies? Obama inherited this financial chaos. I assure you he did not choose to begin his term by rescuing financial institutions and printing money.
The putative golden boy of the Republicans, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, in a lame response to Obama’s address, beat the drum for tax cuts. Helloooooo. We had tax cuts, remember? And … the Republicans’ own George W. Bush, during eight years, ran up quite an eye-popping deficit himself.
I find it Kafkaesque that many Republicans embrace the wish voiced by that fat fool Rush Limbaugh that Obama fail. It is hard to imagine an American even saying that. Do these people not live here, too? Who in their right mind would wish failure on a leader just because their guy lost? This is partisanship on steroids, with a big dose of obstructionism thrown in.
But I have a wish, too, Rush: that when the Republican legislators battling Obama come up for reelection, they are booted out, in big numbers, with their constituents letting them know that singing the same old song is no longer acceptable. Not to mention that they were way off-key in the first place.

Once upon a time long ago I was a DITTO HEAD. I practiced the sort of religion he preached, as he is like god - or maybe Hitler - to all his loyal followers. If he says it is so, it is so, if he says hate, you’ll hate. He calls his non-followers "Sheeple" as if his people are not just exactly that. I suddenly realized I didn’t have a thought for myself, as his brand of hypnotism is all encompassing. If he says it is so, then IT IS SO! I know people who will say to me "Rush says……….." Well ,duh, what do YOU say?" I long ago saw him for exactly what he was - a fat man who wants to control people’s minds, and he does exactly that….preaches hate, if something is counter to his beliefs, which are all Republican oriented. It didn’t take me long to break away from his mind control, but he is good at what he does, but,oh so dangerous to our country. Wanting the current administration to fail is tantamount to treason. Where will we ALL be if it fails? Think about that before you wish for it.

I still cannot comprehend the thought that RL is a ‘commedian’? I have seen and heard it many times, am I getting confused with someone else who is actually funny?
He is definitely NOT a talk show host, or radio talk host, or someone who seems to be serious about world and national affairs.
Please somebody tell me is he actually being paid to be funny?
Well, if he is getting payment for humor, somebody better ask for their money back!
Dispicable humanbeing-thaing.

Thank you. I am so happy you cleared this up for me. I came in the middle of all the rantings about this ‘commedian’ RL - I actually thought it was true. Lol
NOT that he was ever funny, rather, his claim to fame is in the comedy business. grin
I am just now reading Margo’s statements so I just ran across yours. I think you have a healthy take on what we all need to be doing.
I remember my late in-laws in the 1980s, hovered around the radio, all dewy-eyed about Rush’s latest pronouncement. I sat like a stone wondering how these otherwise decent people could be taken in by this charlatan. Eventually I had to ask, and their response was enlightening. They said, as if in one voice, "he helps us to understand what’s really going on in America. He knows all the secrets and God speaks through him." Whew! Part black magic, part religion, part laziness of intellect. They were wealthy, Orange County, right-wingers, who up until the time they began listening to Rush, were not carrying the burden of hating liberals. That all changed, and they soon began "preaching" the Limbaugh party line. They lost friends and alienated family, but they were faithful to Rush until they died. I’ve always wanted to punch him in the face for his influence on these two people. I’m glad, Margo, you gave him the verbal dressing down he deserves. This man oozes hatred and egomania. He does not love this country. He hates it, and he wants only to cause upheavel and chaos. His "followers’ are deluded, jumping aboard the Rush train rather than thinking for themselves. I hope he fries in hell.
I stopped listening to Rush years ago when he complained incessantly about the Red Cross using donkeys instead of vehicles to get supplies to hurricane victims in the Dominican republic…ah Rush there were no roads left for vehicles to use, so the people should have just starved maybe?
His rhetoric is often so narrow and shortsighted yet people gobble it up..insane!
