Sarah Palin Could Be Close to Closing $7M Book Deal

Sarah Palin just might get the last laugh this election season.
There are reports that the Alaska governor is close to inking a book deal worth about $7 million.
But apparently that’s not exactly a lot of dough for books like these.
"Bill Clinton made more than $10 million when he signed his deal in 2001 and that was the most for a former president," a source told MSNBC. "Sarah brings something different to the table — there is so much curiosity surrounding her and her life. If they move fast and get this thing on shelves, then a $7 million advance could be worth it."
Palin’s personal account of her tumultuous introduction to national politics is widely regarded as the book most likely to repay a multi-million-dollar advance.
"She’s poised to make a ton of money,” New York public relations adviser Howard Rubenstein told the British Times.
"Every publisher and a lot of literary agents have been going after her,” added Jeff Klein of Folio Literary management.
Putting Palin in the category of Hollywood starlet of an odd sort, paparazzi photos of her have also surfaced online. They show her lounging poolside in T-shirt and shorts doing not much of anything.
"Even photos of her just sitting there, but looking like a normal person, could go for solid five-figure sums," one magazine editor told MSNBC.
Another Palin pal also may have a book deal in the works: Joe the Plumber.
"Everyone came at me to write a book. They had dollar signs in their eyes. ‘101 Things Joe the Plumber Knows’ or some stupid s—— like that. Excuse me, I am sorry," Joe Wurzelbacher told FOX News. "You know I will get behind something solid, but I won’t get behind fluff. I won’t cash in, and when people do read the book they will figure out that I didn’t cash in. At least I hope they figure that out."
The book, called Joe the Plumber — Fighting for the American Dream, is to be released by a group called PearlGate Publishing and other small publishing houses. It’s scheduled to be released December 1, 2008.

the story that does not go away……………….
I wouldn’t even get this one out of the library.
Sandbee—i could be a laugh a minute —considering her incoherent speech patterns. Except it’ll be ghosted. How to make the incoherent coherent. Major job there.
Wasn’t she exorcised for ghosts?
Pesky little critters—never know when they’re going to show up lol
Sound’s like a book I won’t be reading. However, if she does get this book deal maybe she can afford to buy her own clothes! Good luck Palin. Put the book out so we can set it on the shelf and can finally put Sarah to rest!
Joan so I guess you still believe she spent all that money herself? Even though Palin, McCain and others have stated they were all bought for her??? Maybe it is a book worth reading? You never know, broaden your horizons…Obama won!!! There is still life out there….
Lighten up already! I was just having fun….Just want to move past Palin and get to work getting the US back into shape!
Joan its funny you told me to lighten up b/c that is exactly what I was saying to you about Palin. IF you dont want to hear anything about her turn the tv off when they talk about her or dont read anymore articles about her…that is what I do. I have been over Palin for a while, seems others aren’t. Oh well…yes lets try and work together to get our Country back in shape.
Joan you are hilarious!
Oh my!
I had no idea that publishers would pay that much for a comic book.
Who will translate it into English?
What a waste of trees.
Good for Governor Palin !!
If Obama/Ayers can write a book together, why not Sarah and her ‘ghost’.
This is a joke right? This can’t be serious. Who exactly do the publishers believe will purchase a book written by Sarah Palin? Let’s say her loyal followers, one million right wing – super conservative, White people from the “real” parts of America do actually fork over the money to buy her book. That won’t in any manner result in a profit. The “masses” didn’t want to hear what she had to say when she was on the campaign trail, what could possibly make them believe that in the aftermath of that debacle, millions of people would be clamoring to hear anything she has to say.
Let us not forget this is the same woman that preaches the virtues of morals yet raised a young girl who didn’t listen to her and went out and had unprotected sex, ended up pregnant and is now essentially blackmailing the father of the child into marrying her. And how she spoke with a faint tear in one eye about the sacrifice her son Track made by way of enlisting in the Army, but neglected to point out he is a once drug-addicted, hard-partying teenager who committed a crime and was given the choice between jail or the Army by a judge in Wasilla. It’s not as if he enlisted on even the slightest of noble reasons. Or maybe she can speak on education and her attendance at not one, two, three, four but five different colleges before she received her degree. And then of course we have Trooper-Gate where she attempted to use her executive powers to control a family matter concerning her sister.
On second thought I think Sarah Palin has a lot she can speak to by way of a book. And I am sure much of what she has to say will resonate with those that support her. Why…..I wouldn’t be surprised if many wouldn’t agree they can relate to her life. I say good for her, I hope her book deal pans out. There are a lot on uneducated, morally bankrupt, bias, inane, divisive, backward thinking, egotistical, right wing conservative, hypocrites out there that need the type of inspiration only one of their own can provide.
Belinda…I am sure every Politican who has written a book has just as many bad as they do good as with Palin. You don’t like her thats great but dont put down people who may buy her book. You don’t know those people and your comments were way off base. I dont plan on buying the book so please don’t go down that road…
You liberal women are absolutely vile and full of hatred. It is amazing that you can not appreciate a self made woman like Palin just because she is a conservative.
