Sarah Palin Could Be Close to Closing $7M Book Deal

Sarah Palin just might get the last laugh this election season.

There are reports that the Alaska governor is close to inking a book deal worth about $7 million.

But apparently that’s not exactly a lot of dough for books like these.

"Bill Clinton made more than $10 million when he signed his deal in 2001 and that was the most for a former president," a source told MSNBC. "Sarah brings something different to the table — there is so much curiosity surrounding her and her life. If they move fast and get this thing on shelves, then a $7 million advance could be worth it."

Palin’s personal account of her tumultuous introduction to national politics is widely regarded as the book most likely to repay a multi-million-dollar advance.

"She’s poised to make a ton of money,” New York public relations adviser Howard Rubenstein told the British Times.

"Every publisher and a lot of literary agents have been going after her,” added Jeff Klein of Folio Literary management.

Putting Palin in the category of Hollywood starlet of an odd sort, paparazzi photos of her have also surfaced online. They show her lounging poolside in T-shirt and shorts doing not much of anything.

"Even photos of her just sitting there, but looking like a normal person, could go for solid five-figure sums," one magazine editor told MSNBC.

Another Palin pal also may have a book deal in the works: Joe the Plumber.

"Everyone came at me to write a book. They had dollar signs in their eyes. ‘101 Things Joe the Plumber Knows’ or some stupid s—— like that. Excuse me, I am sorry," Joe Wurzelbacher told FOX News. "You know I will get behind something solid, but I won’t get behind fluff. I won’t cash in, and when people do read the book they will figure out that I didn’t cash in. At least I hope they figure that out."

The book, called Joe the Plumber — Fighting for the American Dream, is to be released by a group called PearlGate Publishing and other small publishing houses. It’s scheduled to be released December 1, 2008.

Oh Ms. Dee, greedy-guts reign in America. That’s why we’re in this economic and values mess. If Palin was walkin’ da talk as she so stated 4 octaves above her normal voice (is she from Dallas?) she would insist that book be only on the Internet as a download, or DVDs, to save trees! And, yes, who on earth will be the “ghost?” Think about it… hint - ghost. (I think I saw it in that exorcism at her church)

I wonder how many ghost writers will be required for her to “pen” her story. What story? At any rate, when will she ever have time to be governor? She hasn’t done much at all in that department. Hope the book turns out easier to understand than her doodles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MrMTsiYqTU

Yes, she does bring “something different to the table … ” My kids used to do that at times, too, but they were excused after the main course, until they could openly discuss their behaviour, and apology to the family.

I hope Sarah gets so involved in her book deal that she forgets her political aspirations. I didn’t know Obama and Ayers wrote a book together- Oh I forgot its just Marjorie C. spreading the lie that Ayers actually wrote Obama’s books. She and others like her refuse to accept Obama’s many achievements. I know Sarah will need at least 2 ghost writers. What a tall tale she has to tell. Confessions of a shopaholic is a suggestion for one of the chapters. How to pay top price for designer duds at needless markup.

Honestly people…………have you actually READ some of her dialogue. When she gives speeches………that’s one thing with all the smiles and winks, and all the gottca and betca’s. But these same words in the written form……….don’t make any sense. Well if people want to waste their money on her book, that’s their choice. It will probably appear after a few months in the Dollar Store………..
