Sarah Palin Fights 'High School Dropout Daughter'

Sarah Palin’s got daughter Bristol’s back!

Amid reports that Bristol’s given birth to her son, Tripp, came mention that Bristol and her fiancé, Levi Johnston, are "high-school dropouts." Well, Palin doesn’t like it one bit and spent the end of 2008 — a year that was remarkably good to her — calling the press to clear her kid’s name. Referring to Bristol and Levi as high-school dropouts, said Palin in a phone message to People magazine, "harms Bristol’s reputation and Levi’s reputation and their chances for good work opportunities." The governor also took time to defend Bristol and Levi’s respective work ethics: "You need to know that both Levi and Bristol are working their butts off to parent and going to school and working at the same time … They are certainly not high-school dropouts."

Well, to be fair, it is a perfectly reasonable assessment, especially considering Bristol did leave high school and is working toward her GED, while Johnston himself told the press last October that he left school to become an electrical apprentice. Or something. So it’s only natural that the press, which has an apparently insatiable appetite for the Palin brood, would describe these teens as "high-school dropouts." Of course, it is a bit pejorative and we can understand why Palin would parse the words to protect her family’s sterling image.

I don’t understand the question. Why would I defend Al Gore’s son’s drug arrest? Did you defend George W’s twin girls when they got in trouble with underage drinking? What does that mean? No, I didn’t defend Al Gore’s son, why would I? The difference between you and me is I can “acknowledge” when someone or someone close to them does something wrong, without the knee jerk reaction to immediately become defensive and come to their defense.

Belinda, I won’t defend Al Gore’s son for being arrested for drugs….worse he was speeding…which I really don’t like at all…endangering other people. AL GORE DIDN’T DEFEND HIS SON EITHER. Why would he? They don’t get the difference of supporting, affirming that you love your child and stand by them, but that they must take responsiblity for their actions. Just the fact that she is out there ‘defending’ instead of letting the daughter and what’s his name…clean up their own messes…and PROVE THEY INTEND TO BE RESPONSIBLE BY THEIR ACTIONS….shows what terrible judgement and parenting skills she has. She should IGNORE the press and WORK. The daughter and boyfriend should ignore the press and WORK to PROVE their intentions and responsibility by demonstrable ACCOMPLISHMENTS and not WORDS. But Sarah Palin is not a classy or wise individual and is acting in character…such as it is.

Sarah Palin has never taken any responsibility for anything she might have done or said. She always casts the blame on others and has remained the “picked upon” individual, no matter the circumstances, always making excuses for everything. Much has been written about this, and she yet continues the march. Her daughter and boyfriend are now being picked upon by the press, and she seems to defend all that they did, including the “drop out” status, which they certainly were. Again, the press is chastised for picking upon these “hardworking parents.” As a result, she will get the many rallying around both her and these two irresponsible kids.

Dems need to look in their own backyard for answers to the above questions…they have some great accomplished characters as well…Blago, Edwards, William Jefferson, Charlie Rangal, Jesse Jackson, Spitzer..just to name a few!

SJ Morgan, A public ‘womans’ thread/blog is an interesting thing. People bring their own education, life experience, values, accomplishmenst, expectations etc to them.. What you do not seem to understand is that individuals have different WORLDVIEWS and according to mine….and that of 73% of San Francisco and all of my very educated, sophisticated, accomplished friends….Sarah Palin is the worst kind of HICK. We have eyes, we have ears, we have loads of life experience, we know if it walks like a hick, and talks like a hick, and thinks like a hick, and behaves like a hick….it’s a hick. And we don’t want hicks running the country…we’ve had enough hell for the past 8 years. Nothing you can say can possibly change another’s worldview…..is that clear enough for you? Embrace her. She as repuganant a thing to me as can possbily be. Don’t let that stop you….why is it so important to you to try to change other’s opinions that will no more change than the sun and the moon will change positions? YOU believe that she has ACCOMPLISHMENTS based on YOUR value system and YOUR life experience/perspective. To other’s her “Accomplishments” are zilch, zero, nada. She isn’t “intimidating”. She’s a JOKE of all that is totally repugnant and foul to some people. Why is that so difficult for you to understand? who cares about these people? she is not intimidating..she is an embarrassment….NOT because of her daughter..because of her SELF…good GOD i can’t even imagine why anyone would think she has anything to offer as a leader….her family is out of control…she doesn’t even know basic geography…it is pitiful that’s about all the brainwaves i ever want to waste on her ever again….
