Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska Reportedly McCain's VP Pick

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Breaking … Fox News is reporting that Sarah Palin, the 44-year-old governor of the state of Alaska, will be named to the John McCain ticket as the vice-presidential candidate. A McCain rally is scheduled in Dayton, OH, at 12 noon, local time.

Update: McCain’s presidential campaign takes a surprise turn this morning, with the announcement that Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska, will be introduced as John McCain’s running mate. Many are calling McCain’s pick a strategy to grab swing voters and women voters affected by Sen. Hillary Clinton’s loss in the Democratic primaries. As Barack Obama made history last night as the first black man to lead a major party’s bid for the White House; John McCain has just made his attempt to make history. If elected, Palin would become the first female VP. Click here to read more about Sarah Palin.

The way I see this is that if something happened to Obama we would have Biden as President. If something happened to McCain we would have….who?

From where I see all this.. The Democrats have given us a Presidential candidate with little experience but enough charm to win a Mr. Congeniality contest..He is a Learner type candidate..Learn as you go . For Vice President we have the old white haired man with years and years of experience in Washington who knows a thing or two about getting a lot of bills through the Congress. The Republicans have given us a Presidential candidate with years and years of experience who knows a thing or two about what it takes to get bills through the Congress For Vice President we have the young charming woman with limited experience who is a Learner Vice President. Unlike the Learner President, she HAS won a Miss Congeniality contest so while she is a Learner Vice President, she does have some record of achievement. So if John McCain were to no longer hold the reins of State in his firm grip, Sarah is not different than Obama in ability and experience to date. So, we can vote for a Learner President or a Learner Vice President Sarah has the executive experience of a mayor and being Governer of one of our biggest states. I think she is a better shot than Chaney. Isn’t that a balanced ticket from both parties?

Don’t forget—she ran a state for almost two years. I haven’t ever run a state. Guess I am REALLY dumb!

Miss Congeniality? What a crock! Have you ever had a job and after 18 months did you feel that you had mastered the skills needed to do it at your best.? What world do you live in? John McCain requires beauty queen women, not real ones.

Well Kris, we have been told repeatedly by the Democrats that 2 years in the Senate was more than enough experience for Obama to be President. We have been told over and over again that Mr. Obama has had plenty of experience given his 2 years in the Senate and the fact is, he has no experience at all in administering any sort of company or organization. Sarah is more modest..she is only running for Vice President. She had prior experience in administration as mayor of a small city as well as administering a government agency and being Governor of Alaska. I hope you aren’t implying that MEN are so much smarter than WOMEN that 2 years experience for men is more than enough but women must have a lot of years to catch on to the same thing. Do you mean to say you think Obama can do his very best after 24 months of experience,( ie. on the job training), while an intelligent woman couldn’t possible master any of the resonsibilities of the same job in a much longer time frame. What world do I live in?? I live in a world of very highly educated, kind and intelligent people. We are all professionals in the world of medicine, social science, private business and agricultural endeavors. Did John Mc Cain say personally, directly to you , “I require beauty queen women, not real ones”?????? If not, I want to know what evidence you have that a beauty queen is what he requires in a Vice President.

She is not “just running” for Vice President. She is on the front line if McCain, at 72, is disabled. RUnning a small town in Alaska for a short time is not great training in my opinion. And less than 2 years as governor seems weak. Prior experience is as a hocky mom. WoW! And, after dumping the first wife, he chose a former beauty queen as a wife and now he has chosen another beauty queen. Seems like a trend.

I know I can’t be the only one of us who remembers that cheesy old TV show “The Dukes of Hazard”. I’ve been thinking for a while that McSame reminds me of that sleezy “Boss Hogg” character. Now I guess he finally found him a “Daisy Duke”.

Sorry, never watched that show, so can’t relate to your comment.

Even if you never watched the show, I am sure you know what the word “sleazy” means. I wish the Republican voters could be specially taxed to pay for the Iraq War since it was their doing. Would you still like your choice for president if you had to take a fiscal share in his unnecessary and unlawful invasion and occupation of Iraq?

I do know what the word “sleazy” means and it most definately does not apply to either John McCain or Sarah Palin. What is it that liberals are so fearful about? There are lots of us who like Sarah Palin. I admire what she has done. She has 13 years of public service to her credit, cleaned up corruption including that in her own political party, restored efficiency to government in her state, refused a big “earmark” that was wasteful…raised a family and has a lot of charm and grace as well. She has administered government at the local and state level and done a good job of it. No one has National Security experience unless they have been directly involved in that at the Federal level. Obama certainly has no National Security experience..I think both John McCain and Biden cover that area.. She has good economic experience and the economic issues are at the forefront of peoples minds at this time. The war in Iraq is not the big issue anymore. I think Sarah is a good choice for John Mc Cain to have made. She is a woman of power, up and coming.

If you read previous posts you will find that her position as Mayor was more ornamental and that she did not actually run the town, the council did. Her only official function was to cast a vote on the council if there was a tie. She has been gov. for 20 mos, check with the local Alaskan newspapers and you will find that her popularity is dropping. She is currently under investigation for misuse of her power and has changed her story now twice. The person she fired has emails that she sent and turned those over to the investigative committee on the 29th. Barak Obama spent 8yrs in his state senate, and I believe he was elected in 2004 which would mean that he has been in office 4yrs. During that time he has been on several committee’s including those that deal with health and education; oh and he has also been on the foreign relations committee. As a person who comes from a proud Navy family (5 generations, including myself have served) I wouldn’t vote for John McCain just based on his moral perpitude. Most Navy families were disgusted with him when he divorced his first wife after she became disabled. Doesn’t say much for him when she stood by him and waited for his return for 5 long years. And even though I am a Democrat, my father and brother’s have all been Republican. They are appalled at McCains choice, so it’s not just me. No Way, No How, No McCain! Obama/Biden 08

To all Hillary Clinton supporters (and I am one of you): Let’s put Our Gal on the Supreme Court! Vote for Barack Obama! Do you remember back when she was still Hillary Rodham? The American Bar Association listed her as one of the 100 best lawyers in this nation. Come on! Let us put her where she can help us for the rest of her life!
