Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska Reportedly McCain's VP Pick

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Breaking … Fox News is reporting that Sarah Palin, the 44-year-old governor of the state of Alaska, will be named to the John McCain ticket as the vice-presidential candidate. A McCain rally is scheduled in Dayton, OH, at 12 noon, local time.

Update: McCain’s presidential campaign takes a surprise turn this morning, with the announcement that Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska, will be introduced as John McCain’s running mate. Many are calling McCain’s pick a strategy to grab swing voters and women voters affected by Sen. Hillary Clinton’s loss in the Democratic primaries. As Barack Obama made history last night as the first black man to lead a major party’s bid for the White House; John McCain has just made his attempt to make history. If elected, Palin would become the first female VP. Click here to read more about Sarah Palin.

I knew it. They decided to out-Democrat the Democrats.

Even Hillary supporters for McCain have to be disgusted at this pick. The Supreme Court is too important to put into this woman’s hands should anything happen to McCain.

Carol: “Even Hillary supporters for McCain have to be disgusted at this pick.” Not me. I’m ever so happy. I’d have had more reservations about Romney. Pawlenty, I don’t know so I have no opinion there. McCain/Palin. Looks like a winner to me.

Rather nicely played, in my opinion.

My Alias - I’ve been reading through the thread and got a chuckle out of some of Star’s remarks. Then I read this one from you and laughed right out loud. Yeah, maybe that is what John decided to do.

Hey Bonnie, Keep reading. Star is on a roll. That waitress remark was way out of line for a women’s website, but Star handled that beautifully too. In fact that remark might have backfired because Star even admitted to having to rethink her position.

Dont see hjow the Republicans can continue to argue that Obama doesn’t have the experience to lead when Palin’s experience is two year’s as governor of arguably not your average state. I think it’s insulting to the Clinton supporters (obviously aimed at them) to suggest any woman will do to get their votes.

So far, I only see some posters here suggesting that. Many of us who backed Hillary backed her for her ideas, not her plumbing. So we shall see.

gloria: “I think it’s insulting to the Clinton supporters (obviously aimed at them) to suggest any woman will do to get their votes.” Palin is obviously no Clinton, for one thing she’s much younger and much less experienced. But Palin is here as the V.P. Before Cheney, the V.P. had a small roll to play. Palin is as qualified as any to be V.P. Underestimating her because she is a woman is what I find insulting. Give her a chance. Don’t beat the sh!t out of her because she’s a woman. It’s ugly.

This seems like pretty obvious pandering and a bit desperate. I remember many Hillary supporters in here saying that Obama had better not pick a woman for VP other than Hillary because that would be disrespectful and show he thinks women will just vote for any woman. Here McCain is doing exactly that. This sort of reminds me of Bush/Quayle too, in the sense that she is so young. How do they go after Barack for experience and then pick a VP who is only 44 and most people outside of Alaska have never heard of? The only thing I ever heard about was that they were investigating her for something to do with a helping a relative.

WELL, YOU CAN’T SAY THAT THE MAN TOOK THE WORDCHANGETO THE OUTERMOST LIMITS IN THIS PICK. THE RNC ALREADY HAS A ROWBOAT PLACE ON MINNEAPOLISRIVERSIDE THAT SAYS IT ALL: UP THE CREEK WITHOUT A PADDLE.

I’ve followed Palin and she turned the state of Alaska on its head when she ran bucking traditional politics and making changes. So she’s young and “unexperienced” Well experience is basically saying you’ve been in Washington long enough to get comfortable with how things are going and fall in line. I’m not saying I’m 100% behind McCain Palin b/c I’m also intrigued by Obama. But McCain didn’t put Palin up for VP just b/c she’s a woman he put her there for the “change.” Oh and Rush— there is this new thing of woman going back to work after having kids…heard of it?
