Sarah Palin to Make 'Saturday Night Live' Appearance?

By The Staff at wowOwow.com
Tina Fey and Sarah Palin

Will the real Sarah Palin make an appearance on “Saturday Night Live"?

There may be a chance.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that it may be likely that the Alaska governor and John McCain’s vice-presidential running mate will appear on the popular weekend comedy show to have some fun with Tina Fey. Fey, the former “SNL” writer and current star of the NBC comedy “30 Rock,” has returned to the “SNL” set in recent weeks to play Palin in various political skits.

A top staffer in McCain’s campaign told the Sun-Times that the McCain-Palin camp is considering how to respond to Fey’s parodies. There’s some talk that Palin might spoof Fey’s American Express commercials.

The newspaper column reports that some key McCain staffers are content with Palin sticking to just joking about the "SNL" routines on the campaign trail — as when she scribbled "I’m not Tina Fey" on a supporter’s cell phone and said she’d dressed as Fey on Halloween. But some — including the governor herself — think she needs to respond in a more high-profile way.

It’s possible Palin could appear Thursday on the first of NBC’s ”Weekend Update” specials in prime time.

The McSame campaign isn’t going to let her go on a show as spontaneous as SNL without it being so scripted that it’ll take all the fun out of it.

And, as Horace Greeley said in The New York Tribune in 1867……..”except for the Aleutian Islands, Alaska would not be worth taking as a gift”. We paid $7, 200,000 which came to a few cents per acre. Ike signed the bill for statehood Jan. 3, 1959. Seems to be the gift that keeps on giving! State flower is the forget-me-not. Oh, I don’t think so this time, Charlie, Joe Sixpack…Maverick.

Sarah said she wants to go on SNL… I think she wants to be a star more than a VP…She enjoys this media attention. I am just ready for her 15 minutes to be up.

Ky, I’ve thought the same thing. She LOVES being in the spotlight, may go back to her Beauty Queen days, I’ve never seen anyone go from small town politics to the national stage with such ease, it is scary. Unfortunately,in her 15 minutes she has unleashed the ugliest, basest, most harmful instincts this country has seen since Jim Crow days. She and John McCain should be ashamed !

Sarah Palin is a very dangerous woman, and is really trying to incite racism at her rallys. McCain Palin ticket have sunk so low, that they will do anything to win. They really don’t care one iota about this great country of ours. If they win, forget about peace - they are warmongers - bomb, bomb, bomb!!! and will Drill Baby Drill, and destroy the beautiful landscape of this country and the planet. They give a Rat’s A about global warming. They don’t have to say anything, one can see bigotry on their faces and body language. Somebody on the DR show today on PBS made a great observation about how during Tuesday’s debate, when an African/American woman asked a question, he turned his back to her and continued to answer the question, when the Navy guy asked the question, he went and patted him on the shoulder….and buddied up to him. I thought that was a pretty perceptive observation.

Wake Up and Hear The Fear In your Childs Voice
lmfaorof this was too good had to share it Get Breaking News Alerts If anyone had any doubts as to whom Jon Stewart supports for President, they were cleared Tuesday night at the Project ALS benefit at the Waldorf-Astoria. Host Ben Stiller called Stewart “America’s young elder statesman of political comedy” and surmised that on his Comedy Central sendup of the news, Stewart “can’t take sides.” “Oh,” said Stewart. “I think it’s pretty clear. “Neither of them is perfect, but if you, out of nowhere, are going to grab a woman out of the woods and make her your vice presidential candidate, what can I do? “[Sarah Palin] is like Jodie Foster in the movie ‘Nell,’ ” Stewart continued. “They just found her, and she was speaking her own special language. “Have you noticed how [Palin’s] rallies have begun to take on the characteristics of the last days of the Weimar Republic? In Florida, she asked ‘Who is Barack Obama?’ Hey, lady, we just met YOU five f-ing weeks ago.” Read the whole story here. cracks me up!!

The GOP aren’t going to do NBC any favors. She’s already refused to come on the Today Show, which is her ideal venue. I wouldn’t count on it. But we’ll see …

I could see a quick sketch shot near the studio doors where she approaches the door, but the floor assistant won’t let her on set. F.A.: “Sorry, we don’t need you this week, Tammy.” S.P.: “But, I’m not Tammy Fey…” Door closes, end of sketch. :) IMHO, anything more than that would be overkill.
