Sarah Palin to Make 'Saturday Night Live' Appearance UPDATE: Live Reader Forum

In an announcement sure to make this weekend’s Saturday Night Live a ratings winner, Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin will make a guest appearance this coming Saturday night.

The confirmation was made by Presidential candidate John McCain during his interview with David Letterman on his return appearance on the late-night comedy show.

Palin’s appearance has been eagerly anticipated by fans on both sides of the aisle in the wake of the riotous, dead-on portrayals of the Alaskan Governor by 30 Rock star and SNL alumni, Tina Fey.

Past Tina Fey "Palin" performances on Saturday Night Live can be found here and here.

Dona, I am with you! I was watching him on T.V. then thinking, I used to actually like this guy. Now, I have only contempt for him! He has become like all the sleezie politicians - with the lies, deceit, cove-rups, shady dealings, and more. It is disheartening. There were several Republicans in the congress I used to admire. Now, I can name maybe a hand full. It is so darned sad… it all appears to be a big joke to him!!! And, Palin is NOT even in his league. So, she is definitely a loser before she even starts. Except for her feminine wiles, she has nothing going for her, really. Men seem to be ‘turned on’ by her, and women seem to want to emulate her. If this is all our country comes down to, in our elections, what the H3LL are we doing, here??? Yes! Vote for BARRY O’BAMA

I now think she has had her 15 minutes of fame and I would not tune in to watch her.

I’m not going to watch. Until she appears on the news programs or makes herself available to the press, not interested. But you can add to my list of “Top 10 reasons why Gov. Palin won’t appear on “Meet the Press” on my blog if you come up with a goodie! www.mugsypeabody.blogspot.com

Ditto. She’ll do anything but an interview and the only question is why she isn’t embarrassed, this is so transparent. Sarah Appalling, indeed.

Think she’ll show up in a swimsuit and play the flute?

Tick Pyne, I think you have to have a small amount of intelligence to be embarrassed……..

As far as I am concerned, if Palin is not doing interviews and answering questions, she is not really running for office. She is just a fundraiser and rabble-rouser. A pair of mukluks wading through the political sewer.

Mugsy, I just watched it on my Huffington Post. You didn’t miss much; I just think it’s very strange that they exploit her lack of knowledge. I can’t believe she thinks Alec Baldwin was funny when he “mistook” her for Tina Fey and started talking about how he wasn’t going to appear with that woman(meaning Palin). The two times she appeared, it was as though they were mocking her, and I’m not sure if she knew it. Maybe I’m just tired of the whole thing and will feel better when this whole race is behind us…

It seemed like a fairly rehearsed bit to me. I think she was there to show she has a sense of humor, and to show her when she is not in attack mode. She actually spent more time with her mouth closed than speaking. It was a warn, fuzzy, just-plain-folks photo-op.

Zera, I bet she’s a good dancer. Did you see her sitting at the desk? Not presidential at all, and I had a feeling that it wasn’t complimentary either.

Yes, they made a point of her not saying anything (even teleprompted) at that point. I was amused at how much of the time she was sitting there just off-camera during that skit. lol. Good thing this is an election and not a dance-off.
