Sarah Palin to Make 'Saturday Night Live' Appearance UPDATE: Live Reader Forum

In an announcement sure to make this weekend’s Saturday Night Live a ratings winner, Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin will make a guest appearance this coming Saturday night.

The confirmation was made by Presidential candidate John McCain during his interview with David Letterman on his return appearance on the late-night comedy show.

Palin’s appearance has been eagerly anticipated by fans on both sides of the aisle in the wake of the riotous, dead-on portrayals of the Alaskan Governor by 30 Rock star and SNL alumni, Tina Fey.

Past Tina Fey "Palin" performances on Saturday Night Live can be found here and here.

Going on Saturday Night Live but not the Sunday talk shows. Good sense of priorities, Mrs. Palin. Here’s a funny site. Roll your mouse over the picture, click on various things in the room. Be sure your sound is on. This cracked me up. http://palinaspresident.com/

I will not be watching it tonight. You can be sure they’ve written something that will not embarrass her, the McCain camp wouldn’t have agreed to let her go on otherwise. She used to be a sportscaster so I’m sure she can deliver a few lines well enough that her “fans” will gush over it. She has nothing to offer me except a reason to fear she’ll end up running this country so I will not add to the SNL ratings tonight thank you very much.

I’m beginning to believe we truly are “two Americas.” Those who see Sarah Palin as a joke McCain is shoving down our throats, and those that see her as a wonder woman, sent to save us keep us on the right moral path.

How did we become so polarized a nation? Maybe we have finally reached a kind of cultural critical mass, brought on by the mighty gravitational pulls of ideology and intellect.

Rather … How did we become such a polarized nation? (Egad, my syntax. Sorry.)

Please pray tell us how in the world Sarah Palin can keep us on the “right moral path” when she does not care what our paths are, moral or not.

Do not under estimate SNL. They roasted her right to her face, and she took it. Both she and Tina were there, but did not appear together during Tina’s bit. That did not keep Tina from doing her wonderful Palin impersonation. James, I wondered why David didn’t bring up Keating. And Dave didn’t remind McCain that Obama was one person on a committee that included Repubs, yet is getting all the blame.

Letterman grilled McCain pretty good, Carol. Harder than anyone I’ve seen in a long time, including Obama. Tina and Sarah did cross paths on the SNL set…Tina said she was making way for the “real Sarah Palin” and they walked right by each other as Fey exited and Palin entered. Fey is no fan of Palin’s. I was hoping they’d do a much better - and longer - skit. It wasn’t very good, at all.

The crossing of paths was the only thing they did together. I was hoping for a face off, but I was pleased that SNL did not go against their grain. And I still liked the Baldwin skit the best because he pulled no punches. What did you expect??? I knew Palin would open the show. She wasn’t on the guest list for the night, so it had to be a short appearance. That’s what most pols do when they go on that show.

Yeah, I was hoping for a skit between the two - would’ve been funnier.

Well I suppose I was hoping for that too, The thing with Letterman was the amount of applause McCain was getting. Dave could ask the questions, but the follow ups could have been stronger. McCain may have come out ahead on that appearance. I can’t wait for this election to be over, And if McCain wins, I will pray for his good health each and every day for the next 4 years, because I will be thinking “Livia” in “I, Claudius”.

I don’t read Shakespeare, so you got me on that one. (Ha! It may not even be Shakespeare you referenced, for all I know!). I’m into sports, news and brunettes, not necessarily in that order. Ha.

Sandbee; What a thought! Great idea, I hope John invites her, and wipes her all over the place!

I saw SNL and I actually felt sorry for her. Does she not know that some do not take her as a serious vp contender? And to have Alex Baldwin tell a vp canidiate that she is hot in my opinion is disrespectful…but then I’m old school and times have changed.
