Sarah Palin Searching for Book Deal – and TV?

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Sarah Palin’s looking for a new way to tell her tale. Rather than relying on that unreliable mainstream media — you know, the one she’s constantly bashing — Palin’s reportedly in search of a book deal. And she’s bringing out the big guns by hiring DC-based lawyer Robert Barnett, a lawyer who has represented the likes of Hillary Clinton Barack Obama and, most recently, Laura Bush.

Books aren’t the only option for Palin. The Hollywood Reporter speculates that the Alaska governor would make a perfect fit for television:

[Barnett] has handled TV deals for a lot of top anchors and reporters such as Brian Williams, Lesley Stahl, Neil Cavuto, Christiane Amanpour and Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

While not an immediate option, TV news is considered an intriguing possible future career path for the telegenic Palin.

… With her good looks and engaging personality, she also has been bandied as a potential TV personality along the lines of other prominent politicians who have transitioned to television, including Mike Huckabee.

Palin’s hardly the only Republican looking for a book deal. Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice recently joined forces with the William Morris Agency to shop around her own tome. We’re not sure which woman’s work we find more intriguing. Certainly Palin’s will be a bit sudsier, but Rice’s international experience no doubt packs a page-turning punch.

So, readers, which lady’s literature would you rather read?

Oh Yeah, tell us again Sarah about how you want to be left alone to simply govern Alaska and look out for the best interest of the people of Alaska…..whatever!

Hi Belinda, I said I would never come back here—but here I am. Okay, tell me what you hate about Sarah Palin—just her politics? She’s an accomplished young woman on the other side of the fence from you. Why so nasty? She has every right—just like a lot of other governors who engage nationally—to get involved in her way. Have you noticed that are plenty of Democrats that are pundits on news programs ad nauseum? I try to respect people from both parties—but it’s seems the liberals on this site have a tough time doing that.

Good to see you back Susan. See wOw is addicting isn’t it? :-) Sorry, I know you asked nicely but I’m not going to explain why I don’t like Palin, it is a moot point. For others on this site who you’ll see may disagree with her political views and such, those are the people you should have a give and take with. In them you will find someone to have the type of online dialog I think you seek. However for me to justify and explain why she grates on my last nerve….you would probably understand in the end, probably not agree, and it would take hours of us going back and forth to get to any resolution. So why bother Dear Friend. Again, glad you’re back online, there have been some interesting topics as you can see to discuss, so enjoy! :-)

Sure, it is—I had some time to think about it and realized that I could come on some and just ignore those that called me stupid. I see, so yours is kind of a personal thing with Sarah Palin. Well, unfortunately, that is what is so difficult about politics. People in politics are well—people. So the same reason you dislike Sarah Palin, is partially the same reason I dislike Bill Clinton. I mean, he just makes me think “icky.” Well, of course, I don’t like all of his politics—but I did like some. But I still think “ick.” It’s important for us both to remember that it’s iikely we would both have different opinions if we knew these people personally. I was really impressed by Kanye West while being interviewed at the inaugural. He was excited that Obama was elected, but he also said, “You know, George Bush is a human with feelings (paraphrasing) and it’s too bad he couldn’t repair his legacy.” It was so empathetic and classy—a few women/men on her could work on their empathy (including me). So it is possible to disagree with politics, but be respectful of the other politicians. But then WE are people too. :-)

Great insights Susan, Kudos to you. Suffice to say, when it comes to Palin, yes it is personal. I feel the same way about Clinton now. He makes me want to take a shower when I even think of the man! :-) Yuck! No one should call you stupid, that is a low blow. But it is hard to discuss politics when people don’t stay on the topic at hand, it always strays toward personal unfortunately. Again, glad you’re back, wOw needs your slant on issues. Bee

Yes, I’m with you on Clinton—poor Hillary. Your posts are some of my favorites, so I’ll keep reading.

I agree Belinda… and if I were a citizen of Alaska I’d be pretty annoyed that my tax dollars were going toward paying the salary of a woman who seems completely bored with her job as governor. And as far as a book deal goes… I pity the editor who will have to make sense of her sentences to nowhere.

hehehe…. I’m sure there will be a ghost writer involved on Palin’s book. If she is the author, it will be obvious. I’d almost be tempted to check it out from the Library, if it were published raw w/out editor input… just to see the train of logic.. I imagine that would be a pretty windy track. If Rice write her own (I think she is capable of doing that), I imagine it will be a dry read, so she’ll probably get a ghost writer too to add more personality to it. It’ll be interesting to see if she gets into her personal life at all, she has a pretty well connected background.

Stop doing this to me wOw…you know I have a job and work to do. Don’t post subjects that you know are hot buttons for me, ones that you know I won’t be able to resist! :-)

You ride the short yellow bus right? Not to bright eh? Or is it you just enjoy pointing out the obvious? “Belinda-You are choosing to read the subject article. Next time if Gov. Palin is mention then just don’t read the article. There are several articles to choose from.” Well duh! No kidding Sherlock….really?

Belinda- I am pointing out the obvious to you. No snide remarks necessary we are all adults. Next time if there is an article on Gov. Palin then you don’t have to read the article. Enough said. Peace Belinda.

LMAO Belinda, I believe the it goes: “No sh!t Sherlock”…just sayin’. Did you know Belinda that we Canadians have been stereotyped due to the excessive use of “eh”, I blame the McKenzie brothers from the skits of “The Great White North”! I hope you have a wonderful day Belinda, I’ll be spending mine curled up with my dogs, reading my Jane Austen novel Persuasion, while the blast of winter that arrived last night, takes away the option of going shopping. If you haven’t read Persuation Belinda, I highly suggest it.

Btw, I would choose to read Condoleeza Rice, I think it would be insightful, intellegent, and interesting. I have a feeling Sarah Palin would read like a bad mix of a Harlequin Romance/Conspiracy theory/Taxidermy for Dummies yarn. But hey that’s just “MY” opinion.

You kill me Catherine!!!! LOL!!! I LOVE the McKenzie brothers, I am positive that is why I say eh’ so much. Lord knows I’m not a Scandinavian from Minnesota eh? LOL!!! See, I didn’t have to say the actual Sherlock quote, you did it for me. I’m just being a brat today, picking with those I don’t agree with. People who state the obvious drive me crazy! Did you know the sky is blue? Do you know if you jump in front of a car you’ll be injured? You do know you don’t have to read this, you can ignore it? No….really? LOL! I will have to make note of your reading suggestion, I had not heard of that book. You’re lucky to be able to relax and have time to sit back and enjoy a good read today, you lucky dog! :-) Wish it was me, I’m jealous. If you were reading Palin’s book you would have been done by now because her book would be the equivalent of a pamphlet! Now look who’s pointing out the obvious! :-)
