Palin Pulls No Punches in Kennedy, Couric and Fey Attacks (Video)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Sarah Palin still isn’t reading the news!

The former vice-presidential candidate, who struggled to name her favorite papers — or any, for that matter — during the campaign, lashed out at Caroline Kennedy yesterday by insisting the public will give the potential New York senator a "free ride" simply because of her family name — and money.

Said Palin in an online video:

I’ve been interested to see how Caroline Kennedy will be handled and if she will be handled with kid gloves or if she will be under such a microscope.

It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out and I think that as we watch that we will perhaps be able to prove that there is a class issue here also that was such a factor in the scrutiny of my candidacy versus, say, the scrutiny of what her candidacy may be.

Uh-huh … Apparently Palin missed that entire week when everyone was making fun of Kennedy’s excessive use of "you know." Sweet Caroline wasn’t the only woman Palin took a shot at in the video, entitled, "How Obama Got Elected."

The Alaska governor also took some time to criticize Tina Fey, the comedienne whose Palin impersonation raised both their profiles, and Katie Couric, who conducted the aforementioned interview. Both women, claims Palin, "exploited" her for their own advantage. With regard to Fey, Palin sneered:

I did see that Tina Fey was named entertainer of the year and Katie Couric’s ratings have risen. And I know that a lot of people are capitalizing on, oh I don’t know, perhaps some exploiting that was done via me, my family, my administration. That’s a little bit perplexing, but it also says a great deal about our society.

We’re not sure we can really agree with Palin’s charges of "exploitation." First, Fey was simply doing her job — making the nation laugh. And, as you’ll recall, Palin also poked some fun when she herself appeared on Saturday Night Live. As for Couric, well, the journalist simply asked Palin questions. It was Sarah herself who provided the entertainment value.

For those of you who want to hear what else Palin has to say for herself — including how her "mama grizzly" rises when people poke fun at her family — watch this handy video…

I told myself I was not going to bash Palin in 2009…..but she really comes across as bitter in this interview/documentary. I agree with what news commentators are saying, as hard as it is in the face of all the negativity she has faced, she should have used a bit of humor in her responses. Absent that, she comes across as negative herself and biting. However this does answer for everyone the topic up for discussion (I think it was last week) about Palin and Tina Fey supposedly becoming chummy…..UmmmmI doubt it! :-)

I do not blame her for being bitter!!! She did use humor in saying she was doing her part for job security for Fey & Curic in helping BOTH their ratings! That said….. what Sarah said needed to be said…and she is right NO man or Dem woman would have received that kind of riducule of their family. Why is it when a man comes out against something hs eis trong…when a woman does it she is “negative”!

S.J Did you think she was bitter? I have seen bitter, and she didn’t come off as that bitter to me. I have seen bitter before - think of NIxon. She was expressing personal opinion but her body language and facial expressions didn’t come off as bitter. I saw a little anger and defensiveness about her kids, but she seemed much as she was during the election, maybe just a little more controlled. She was asked to look at negative or sarcastic remarks about her that she had never seen before, and had to maintain herself while doing it. Is she getting better at politicking? The more they question and confront her, the smarter she will get.

This woman is begging to be bashed because not only will she not shut up and go back to the job she supposedly has, but now she is blaming not only the media for her loss, but SOCIETY… us! Apparently the voter doesn’t get to make a choice anymore. Also, she must have counted on us being even dumber than she is if she thought the majority of Americans would think she would make a good VP.

Yes, I wonder how much money has been made off of her by major news organizations. Talk to them, let them know you are tired of hearing about her. See how much effect it will have because they are making a ton of money.

I personally do not pay attention to major news organizations. I don’t have cable and I don’t have to deal with CNN, MSNBC, or FOX, I inform myself mostly through reading (US and European sources) and PBS… so I wouldn’t be the one to contact these people. The only place I ever hear about Palin is in here… and when I’m in here I definitely speak my mind about her.

Palin is a joke world wide. She is only supported by the far right base of the GOP and that is nothing. The more she talks the more of a joke she becomes.

There is not ONE person in America who did not vote for her, who after hearing her whine and make ridiculous statements these last several weeks, is not even MORE convinced they were right to think she was a horrible pick for VP!

I thought the interview was straightforward. I agree that if Sarah Palin had been a democrat she would’ve been handled differently in the press. The media attacked her unfairly. They were relentless. I have never seen another female candidate treated as badly as she was treated. And, it didn’t stop with her. All of her children were attacked in one way or another. They blamed her for Bristol’s pregnancy and Levi’s mother’s drug problems. MSM had a field day with her and she never stood a chance. She has dedicated her life to public service. As far as Katie Couric’s interview and later comments regarding that interview, Couric is a nobody snob. She actually feels that she was “the one” to “trip her up” so to speak and finds some distorted achievement in that. Charlie Gibson was clearly out to make a fool of her and try he did. Even he didn’t know the answer to his own question about the Bush doctrine. I hope that interview ruins what little career he had in front of him. Same with Couric. Whether you are a democrat or a republican there was no excuse for treating Palin the way she was treated. She was “asked” to run as Vice President, accepted, and did the best she could do. I am amazed that anyone in the United States would want to run for public office. If Sarah Palin wants to set the record straight I happen to believe that she deserves to do just that. She is a lot better than some of the “clowns” holding positions in the White House today. We, as woman, should find absolutely no comfort in knowing that the media did a hatchet job on her. Politics are one thing . Personal attacks are quite something else.
