Palin Pulls No Punches in Kennedy, Couric and Fey Attacks (Video)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Sarah Palin still isn’t reading the news!

The former vice-presidential candidate, who struggled to name her favorite papers — or any, for that matter — during the campaign, lashed out at Caroline Kennedy yesterday by insisting the public will give the potential New York senator a "free ride" simply because of her family name — and money.

Said Palin in an online video:

I’ve been interested to see how Caroline Kennedy will be handled and if she will be handled with kid gloves or if she will be under such a microscope.

It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out and I think that as we watch that we will perhaps be able to prove that there is a class issue here also that was such a factor in the scrutiny of my candidacy versus, say, the scrutiny of what her candidacy may be.

Uh-huh … Apparently Palin missed that entire week when everyone was making fun of Kennedy’s excessive use of "you know." Sweet Caroline wasn’t the only woman Palin took a shot at in the video, entitled, "How Obama Got Elected."

The Alaska governor also took some time to criticize Tina Fey, the comedienne whose Palin impersonation raised both their profiles, and Katie Couric, who conducted the aforementioned interview. Both women, claims Palin, "exploited" her for their own advantage. With regard to Fey, Palin sneered:

I did see that Tina Fey was named entertainer of the year and Katie Couric’s ratings have risen. And I know that a lot of people are capitalizing on, oh I don’t know, perhaps some exploiting that was done via me, my family, my administration. That’s a little bit perplexing, but it also says a great deal about our society.

We’re not sure we can really agree with Palin’s charges of "exploitation." First, Fey was simply doing her job — making the nation laugh. And, as you’ll recall, Palin also poked some fun when she herself appeared on Saturday Night Live. As for Couric, well, the journalist simply asked Palin questions. It was Sarah herself who provided the entertainment value.

For those of you who want to hear what else Palin has to say for herself — including how her "mama grizzly" rises when people poke fun at her family — watch this handy video…

What does faith have to do with politics?

My heart goes out to Palin especially now that the people of Alaska are not enchanted with her and the media there is actually reporting on her administration. But she is a fighter and she will return to implement her Conservative reforms into the White House even if she didn’t initially believe the economy was in trouble. After all, oil prices were still high when she was running for VP so Alaska was strong on the economic front.

Actually MOST the people there still love her. They have outed many of the posters on their Newspaper comments section as lower 48 staters. More Dem cyber sabotage in play it seems!

Oh, good grief. Removing the “negative posters” is like a preschool child putting their hands over their ears and saying “la la la”. No wonder. Alaska has long been the haven for odd folks who couldn’t cope with society, and used “escaping to nature” (raping the wilderness) as their justification for dropping out. Now they think they more accurately represent most Americans. Hahahahaha. The people who live in the Fake America managed to get out the vote in a more effective manner than the paranoid delusionals who think Free Speech is “sabotage” !

Brooklyn- A lot of people really admire Gov. Palin. She is a tough cookie. The people of Alaska ARE enchanted with her and actually are voiceing their frustration with the media bias. I know quite a few people that are die hard Democrats in Alaska and they are fed up on how Gov. Palin was treated.

And she is a tough cookie, but she wasn’t ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. Look, I didn’t like the way the media treated Hillary, but when you are in the game, and a woman, that’s the treatment you get. Caroline has not been treated with kid gloves either. When it comes to Palin, there is nothing “presidential” about her. She did not know the world scene or the players. She, like McCain, thought the economy was fine until that little fantasy was finally busted. She was not ready for Meet the Press or any other Sunday show. And I have a strong feeling she and McCain are not on the best of terms. I admire Caroline, but even I have doubts about her although I am not ruling her out. But she is not seeking the White House. That’s the difference. But Caroline entered the arena of politics and now sees what the media is capable of. Palin btw is using the media to stay in the nationwide news. She thinks in 4 years she will be ready to lead this country? Pleeze. Admire her, fine, but after the debacle with Bush, I hope the Republicans pick their from a more experienced and knowledgeable pool. Bush was a governor too, but he was in no way ready to lead. McCain on the other hand was, but the Republicans didn’t want their best man.

Hey Brooklyn I think the media is making money off of her left and right. (Hee Hee). She sells papers and magazines. I think she is also smartening up, we shall see. Watching the political scene is like watching a movie, the spin and climax to resolution are intense.

Frankly, after this election process, my taste for news has dwindled. I am not a “Huffpo” fan or any fan of any media that leans to the right or left. I look at the newspapers and nightly news and that’s it except for the Sunday news shows. And Caroline has not even been the topics of many of these shows. I just want Paterson to make the appointment already because this is dragging on as long as this election. Stop with this dog n pony show. He knows Hillary will get the appointment, and Congress is in session, so bring it on!!

Brooklyn I know what you mean about the political sites. Is Patterson afraid to make the decision? I have not said much about Caroline Kennedy because it is not my state. My main question would be why is it necessary to always have a Kennedy in the Senate? I don’t get that part. It is necessary to have people who represent their constituents equally. This trickle down of wisdom theory because your father was president, doesn’t cut it with me. I don’t know much about her, so I have no idea what her particular pros and cons are, so the people of New York must let themselves be known to the governor. If you had been her teacher would you have put us with so many “you knows”. When you watch the program of Jackie Kennedy talking about the refurbishing of the WH furniture, etc she didn’t have a very big vocabulary, or didn’t have faith that she would be understood. I don’t know.

Personally, I think she has lived in the shadow of her parents and family for so long that her shyness gets the better of her. Of course she is articulate. She attended the best schools, but I think she was not used to being in the spotlight and got nervous. Her brother was the complete opposite. Princess Diana was also not good in front of the cameras in the beginning. We are used to such forceful women in politics, so she is a surprise.

Brooklyn Sure, I can understand the shyness. The most important question besides does she represent the constituents, is can she hold her own and get what she needs done? How long will Uncle Ted be able to reside? I was watching the Solis confirmation hearings today and he seems slower and tired, more aged than I remember, yet he was there working away and heading the hearings. My heart goes out to him.

Merrell I haven’t followed the C. Kennedy situation much in the press. In the beginning everyone was gushing over the idea and then New Yorkers and others started saying “what?”. In what you refer to above, she is just being a republican, which is expected, just like democrats being democrats. If honest, we could both write satirical scripts of the arguments each side would present about anything. Our own SNL. What I mean is, her presentation of herself is getting a little better tuned. Step back, put some air in between yourself and it, and look at it again. I think she is getting smarter in the way she handles herself. The interview is pretty soft ball, except when she has to view segments of herself when people are putting her down and laughing at her. She sits through it, there is some exhibition of an increase in tension, but she hangs in there. Politicians have to learn how to do that.

Merrell Sorry, didn’t distinguish my subjects well. First sentence is obvious, but second sentence I am referring to Sarah Palin.

DeB You’ve missed the point. We are talking about the way she was treated by the media. We are not talking about her political viewpoints. We aren’t talking about oil prices and we are not talking about abortion….we are addressing how unfairly she was treated by MSM. Try to focus.
