Palin Pulls No Punches in Kennedy, Couric and Fey Attacks (Video)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Sarah Palin still isn’t reading the news!

The former vice-presidential candidate, who struggled to name her favorite papers — or any, for that matter — during the campaign, lashed out at Caroline Kennedy yesterday by insisting the public will give the potential New York senator a "free ride" simply because of her family name — and money.

Said Palin in an online video:

I’ve been interested to see how Caroline Kennedy will be handled and if she will be handled with kid gloves or if she will be under such a microscope.

It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out and I think that as we watch that we will perhaps be able to prove that there is a class issue here also that was such a factor in the scrutiny of my candidacy versus, say, the scrutiny of what her candidacy may be.

Uh-huh … Apparently Palin missed that entire week when everyone was making fun of Kennedy’s excessive use of "you know." Sweet Caroline wasn’t the only woman Palin took a shot at in the video, entitled, "How Obama Got Elected."

The Alaska governor also took some time to criticize Tina Fey, the comedienne whose Palin impersonation raised both their profiles, and Katie Couric, who conducted the aforementioned interview. Both women, claims Palin, "exploited" her for their own advantage. With regard to Fey, Palin sneered:

I did see that Tina Fey was named entertainer of the year and Katie Couric’s ratings have risen. And I know that a lot of people are capitalizing on, oh I don’t know, perhaps some exploiting that was done via me, my family, my administration. That’s a little bit perplexing, but it also says a great deal about our society.

We’re not sure we can really agree with Palin’s charges of "exploitation." First, Fey was simply doing her job — making the nation laugh. And, as you’ll recall, Palin also poked some fun when she herself appeared on Saturday Night Live. As for Couric, well, the journalist simply asked Palin questions. It was Sarah herself who provided the entertainment value.

For those of you who want to hear what else Palin has to say for herself — including how her "mama grizzly" rises when people poke fun at her family — watch this handy video…

She was treated the way anyone who said the things she did, behaved the way she did, and was in over her head the way she was would have been treated. Shame on McCain for picking her… but the press did its job.

The press treated her most unfairly….with personal attacks from her clothes, hair, shoes, accent, and children. We expected the media to be biased on her political positions . But, we also expected them to report it accurately. Never happened.

She brought those attacks on herself. Tight clothes that cost lots and lots of money, from the ‘I’m just one of the folks, you betcha’, using her language and children as stage props…she acted like a joke and they treated her like one. She was lucky.. Because her politics are really a nightmare.

Deni- In lieu of your comments, there are many others that think otherwise including Gov. Palin herself. Blago, the Chicago situation (a true nightmare) and Richardson are the ones who are acting like a joke right now and sadly for Americans the joke maybe on us. That’s not good and maybe a precursor on what is to become in the next 4 years.

In lieu of my comments? maybe a precursor? Oh No! OMG! And to think I have been worried about the financial meltdown, the Iraq war, unemployment, global warming and the unending disasters that we have been gifted by the Bush administration, when really I should be worried about some maniac in Illinois who has absolutely nothing to do with my life and soon will have nothing to do with life in Illinois . How silly of me. I only give myself a respite from real issues to joke about the joke that grows exponentially that is, Palin. Well that and the fact that she gives women a really bad name. Seems only fair, to return the favor.

Deni- Look what is happening right now and keep your eagle eyes on the next 4 years. It would be silly not to don’t you think?

I have no idea what you are talking about. I am so happy Obama has been elected. The next for years will be hard work and a great a joy, especially compared to the horror show of the last 8. You are right to compare little issues like Blago Boy to Palin. They mean nothing, either of them. Except of cours that Palin might, become a major voice in the Republican party.

Deni- Deni- You need to compare and contrast the Bush years and the Obama years BEFORE assuming that it will be a great joy, great failure or just average. Blago from Chicago. Obama elected President from Chicago. Of course there is the Senator who was selected by Blago and it was the “selection part” that Obama and other Dems questioned. I think there is a reason why this is an issue. Much respect and take care Deni

uh no I don’t. and I don’t see what any of it has to do with Obama. I mean Palin’s in law was arrested for drug selling in Palin’s town. And Ted Stevens, Palin’s mentor doin’ the pay for play dance. But you know what, that doesn’t mean Palin sells drugs or engaged in pay for play, despite Palin and the Republican’s notions of ‘palling around’. Geography and ‘that guy over there’ are not actually evidence… of anything. Just strange wistful dreaming by some right wingers, who would be quite happy to send the country the rest of the way to hell, so they could exercise their brilliant judgment, once again. And back at ya!

Deni- Obama was the senator and Blago was the governor. They worked together as a team in the SAME state. Blago now selected a new senator and it was the “selection part” that Obama and other Dems questioned. Why do you think fellow Democrats are making it an issue? Do you think if Obama was not voted in as President …would the whole Blago situation be news worthy? What are your feeling about the whole Chicago thing? Blago is following the law about selecting a Senator, correct? Do you think Obama and the rest of the Democrats are making a bad judgement call on this? Do you think that it’s brilliant judgement? For me, it looks bad for the Democratic Party because Burris did not do anything wrong. I feel bad for the guy. I think he’s getting the short end of the stick. It’s just odd and sad for the next President to have to deal with this. It seems to be a very bad omen. It is what it is. The active President is working for the American people and that will be Obama soon. There’s already disagreements from the Democratic party already with some of Obama’s plans which I find to be pretty disheartening. Sierra Club recently sent out a letter summing up that Obama can’t do everything that the Sierra Club hope he would do. This was just what less than 2 months after Sierra Club endorsed him. I don’t know there are some people in the environmental groups and gay community that feel that Obama short changed them. It’s concerning so I pray that the next 4 years will be good for the American people. Eyes wide shut or eyes wide open Deni.

Obama and Blago disliked each other intensely. Obama did not endorse Blago for Governor and Blago did not endorse Obama for the Senate. Blago was “an unapologetic product — and representative — of the Chicago Democratic machine ” while Obama campaigned for office as the “righteous alternative” to those “old-school politics”. The two men have not talked for more than a year . Blago, who been conspicuously left out of the speaking invitations, arrived late at the Democratic convention, and skipped Obama’s victory-night celebration at Chicago’s Grant Park. They were never “a team” in any respect. Blagojevich considered Obama naive and pretentious and just lucky. Obama disparaged Blagojevich for his combativeness, his disorganization and his habit of arriving at official events half an hour late. Obama dealt with Blago only when he had to. I think that Blago is such a head case, Obama or no, he would be all over the news. Blago is so deliciously nuts, the media would find him irresistible. I applaud Chicago for seeking a change to old style politics, by electing Obama to office. I think Blago’s downfall will stike yet another death blow. I hope it is emblematic of new wave of voter awareness, all across our country. Obama supported the Democrats in their call for Blago to step down and not to appoint. When Blago in his desire to be relevant, ignored this and appointed Burris, Obama instructed Reid to settle the matter quickly. What would you have him do? I do not feel bad for Burris. He is not a pathetic little person to be pitied. He knew what he was getting into, when he accepted the appointment. I assume he was ready and willing to face the gauntlet. He seems to be playing his cards well. I hope he does the people of Illinois, proud. It is unfortunate, but hardly sad. Sad is the state of our country after the last 8 years of the terrible corruption and horrible administration. There are much more pressing matters. The fact that the media seems to have grown incapable of reporting what is important to us and would rather ‘play with itself’ endlessly dreaming up sound bites, does not mean the American people share their excitement. A very bad omen? What does that even mean? Sounds very much like like superstition and nonsense. As to the disagreements, I think you are misunderstanding the nature of our Government, the Democrats and Obama. Democrats do not fall unquestioningly in line, behind their leader, as the Republicans have done. We question, we argue, we dissent. Obama’s team is not concerned. Their response to the Democrats’ concerns was “Message received, loud and clear.” And “These folks are not potted plants. They’re elected officials, and they’re doing their jobs. It’s a collective process” Collaboration of ideas and intelligent discussion, sound fantastic to me. I don’t know what you are trying to say about the Sierra Club. But they are excited about and quite squarely behind Obama. From a letter dated January 9th, Carl Pope, Sierra Club Executive Director wrote, “Now it’s up to us to make sure that Congress supports him (Obama), … We’ve got our work cut out for us. But we’ve gotten the leadership we’ve been aching for.” Every facet of this country is aching. The challenges are great and the needs are many. There will be lots of disagreements. Especially so, since Obama wants to bring the country together to solve our problems, rather than polarize and favor factions. There has been no allowance for dissension or encouragement of collaboration, no listening or coming together for 8 long disastrous years. Why would anyone think this would be a cake walk? If we, the American people want the next years to be good to us, then we will have to stop wringing our hands and start doing the work that needs to be done in our neighborhoods, our communities and our states. The days of the authoritarian daddy, making our decisions for us and patting us on the head, while our nation disintegrates, are done. Nothing will be done for us, that we do not roll up our sleeves and put our shoulders to. We are part of the solution or we are part of the problem. Hand wringing, worrying and endlessly carrying on, whether feigned or real, does nothing except perpetuate the impotence of America.

Deni- Good I am glad that your eyes are wide open. I had the impression from an earlier post that you seem to think it was going to be a cake walk and it’s not. In regards to the Sierra Club there was a letter sent that contradicted a prior letter and there are members complaining about it. Maybe the Executive Director will address this later which he should. Hmm…the days of the authoritan daddy making decisions for us etc…..all I can say is “why was there a vote on the bail out by the American people? why was it approved by mostly Democrats? are we going back to Jimmy Carter?” I like Carter he had a good heart but I don’t think he was a very good President. I like the “we” in the American people however I want people to carry their own weight. I don’t depend on the government but I do depend on myself. Maybe because I stayed in East Germany and saw the difference between East and West. I then saw more of a difference when I came back to the States. America is great and I wish people would understand that. I also wish Barney Frank and Frannie-well they really messed up and the “we” in America got shafted which ain’t right by the way. I hope that every American volunteers 5 hours a month and give back to the community. I’ve been doing that since the 90’s and it feels good. It’s nice to give time and not actually expect to get something from it. Anyway thank you for posting and have a great weekend Deni.

And I am sorry that your eyes are clouded. You post as though you want to reach across, in a bi-partisan way, while at the same time, not so subtly blaming the Democrats for all sorts of nonsense, in the most obvious and done to death, right wing fashion. You pretend to be sad and concerned, waving about ill portends and bad omens, all just games to dis the Dems and dismiss the PE. When you begin, to look the reality of how we got here with any eyes at all, and post about that, I will begin to believe you’re not just full of it. I am pretty fed up with the Republicans who helped Bush drive us into the ground. These people, who now, rather than stand up and be accountable, point to this or that Democrat as screwing us, all the while pretending to be quite fabulous themselves. The Republicans bought Bush’s crap and sold us down the river. It is beyond reprehensible to point to the Democrats and say oh! boy they messed us up. My god, you’d have to be blind, deaf, dumb and dead to hear that without questioning the mental stability of the finger pointer. Or maybe they just don’t care about anybody or anything. As long as they get to continue being nasty and vile and above all shift the blame. I suggest people worry about carrying their own weight and let others worry about how they carry theirs.

Deni- I am sad and concern no pretending on that! A lot of Americans are sad and concern and they have the right to be. Like I stated a long time time ago there are good Dems, Reps and Inds and then there are bad Dems, Reps and Inds. I used to think that Reps were always the bad guys well 2008 was an eye opener for me. Dems can be just as bad. Spizer,Edwards etc… Peace.
