Palin Pulls No Punches in Kennedy, Couric and Fey Attacks (Video)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Sarah Palin still isn’t reading the news!

The former vice-presidential candidate, who struggled to name her favorite papers — or any, for that matter — during the campaign, lashed out at Caroline Kennedy yesterday by insisting the public will give the potential New York senator a "free ride" simply because of her family name — and money.

Said Palin in an online video:

I’ve been interested to see how Caroline Kennedy will be handled and if she will be handled with kid gloves or if she will be under such a microscope.

It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out and I think that as we watch that we will perhaps be able to prove that there is a class issue here also that was such a factor in the scrutiny of my candidacy versus, say, the scrutiny of what her candidacy may be.

Uh-huh … Apparently Palin missed that entire week when everyone was making fun of Kennedy’s excessive use of "you know." Sweet Caroline wasn’t the only woman Palin took a shot at in the video, entitled, "How Obama Got Elected."

The Alaska governor also took some time to criticize Tina Fey, the comedienne whose Palin impersonation raised both their profiles, and Katie Couric, who conducted the aforementioned interview. Both women, claims Palin, "exploited" her for their own advantage. With regard to Fey, Palin sneered:

I did see that Tina Fey was named entertainer of the year and Katie Couric’s ratings have risen. And I know that a lot of people are capitalizing on, oh I don’t know, perhaps some exploiting that was done via me, my family, my administration. That’s a little bit perplexing, but it also says a great deal about our society.

We’re not sure we can really agree with Palin’s charges of "exploitation." First, Fey was simply doing her job — making the nation laugh. And, as you’ll recall, Palin also poked some fun when she herself appeared on Saturday Night Live. As for Couric, well, the journalist simply asked Palin questions. It was Sarah herself who provided the entertainment value.

For those of you who want to hear what else Palin has to say for herself — including how her "mama grizzly" rises when people poke fun at her family — watch this handy video…

Like I said, the right wing bloggers are incapable of supporting their cause without name calling. You have made my point.

ha ha ha ha ha is that all you people can ever think of? We’re jealous? You seem obsessed with the notion. By your reasoning, you are the jealous one. Coming here …to call women names and all… seems a tad bizarrrro!

Walter Cut the name calling. It is such a bore. DeBurca and I disagree on many issues, but she is no - whatever you called her, I won’t repeat. Say your opinion and don ‘t call names, we have had too much of that on other threads.

Why do men come on here and call women names? This is a site designed for women over 40. What are they thinking, like it is real intelligent discourse?

I know she’s bitter about things but it sad that she blame some people who could have been either friends or helpers in her career.

Debra Grande - I need a little help with your post. If I read it correctly, you are referring to Katie Couric perhaps being a friend, etc. which could ‘ve helped Palin’s career? Katie Couric is only interested in one person. She was not well liked on The Today Show and all were happy to see her leave. Her career is in the toilet. Despite that, she is her biggest fan. She isn’t a friend to anyone but herself. And, Charlie Gibson showed his true colors for buying into the personal attacks approach to journalism. He hurt his career. I believe Sarah Palin was addressing the treatment of the media which had to have been the most blatant character destroying project for them to date.

Katie Couric did her job, she conducted an interview. Palin failed at showing us in that interview that she was prepared or capable for the job she was trying to get. The press did its job and the voters have spoken. This vilifying the press is a ploy by the right wing to discredit the one thing that stands between them and their use of propaganda, smear and fear to win elections. So of course, they attempt to discredit the press. The fact is Palin couldn’t cut it, it was obvious to the public and the voters made their decision.

Is Sarah Palin unfairly treated by the media .. ? OK, I would like to hear in what ways was she treated unfairly - bearing in mind that politicians get immense scrutiny as a matter of course. 1. Attack on Family Sarah complains that Barack’s request to treat his family as “off limit” was respected, but her family (in particular her daughter Bristol) was not spared. However, as a politician Sarah Palin opposes sex education for teenagers. As a fundamentalist Christian Sarah Palin opposes pre-marital sex. And as a matter of fact, her teenage daughter got pregnant OUTSIDE marriage. Now, should not such politician - of whatever affiliation - then be held accountable for the very real results of her beliefs and policies .. ? 2. “If I had run as a Democrat candidate .. ” This is such a whining self-pitying complaint. Take a look at how the media ridicules Caroline Kennedy for her “Uh um, you know ..” stutters. Not a few national media pass judgement that she is not fit to be the junior Senator representing New York. 3. The media attacks her clothes, accent, shoes etc .. There is always a section of the media who caters for readers with interest in fashion or, if you like, who panders to the sexism of their readers. This section of the media will attack any female politicians who they view as meriting an attack on her clothes, accent, shoes, hair .. you name it. I find it frivolous, but I’d just like to point out that the same attacks were also levelled against Hillary Clinton when she was campaigning to be the Democratic Presidential nominee. Perhaps the attacks against her were not so much focused on her clothing as they were against Sarah Palin, but then Hillary Clinton never splurged $150,000 on clothing in a month !!! 4. The media spreads lies about Sarah Palin The media spreads a lot of lies against numerous politicians, both Republicans and Democrats. Have we forgotten about the slanders by the “Swiftboaters” against John Kerry in 2004 ? If a politician does not like the lies, the best remedy is to open up the evidence that proves those are lies.Sarah Palin demands that the media believes her when she says Trig is her son. But if she really wants to be believed, then she’d better open up the evidence .. show us the DNA test ! She refuses, but then she gets offended when people do not believe her. Lady, Kouric may not be the centre of the universe, but neither is you ! Your words are NOT biblical, and so if you want to rebut an allegation, then offer us your evidence so that the public can scrutinise it and make their minds based on facts - not YOUR words. In short, grow up Sarah ! Nobody was impressed by your winkings in a Vice Presidential debate.

Leo…I was with you until you said that Sarah wouldnt show proof Trig is her son…Obama wont show us his college papers or his real birth certificate…Are you still thinking Trig is Bristol’s son? I mean it is impossible to have a 4 month old and be as far along pregnant as Bristol was… I do think Sarah needs to head back to Alaska and get her stuff in order. If she wants to be taken seriously then get more experience with Politics and then move your way up. Run for Senate, something… For those that don’t like Sarah, then stop reading about her and stop listening to her. She will eventually go away.

Obama’s website has shown his birth certificate. And what college papers are you talking about. The man went to 2 of this countries best universities and was editor of the Harvard Law Review. He authored 2 books. And I really don’t recall too many comments here by “the regulars” that Palin wasn’t Trig’s mother.

B. Gal…I remember clearly a lot of the “regulars” when Palin was first named and the internet rumors started about Trigg, and how he wasnt her son and how it was obvious he wasnt her son but her grandson b/c she wouldnt hold him and didnt look Motherly towards him and that Bristol held him more and that his own Father wouldnt hold him…I could go on and on and on and on and on about the hateful things said. Please dont take this as me being a Palin supporter… Obama won’t show his College transcripts or his medical records…the birth certificate is a current copy of what you get now, not the original one that his parents would have received at his birth. I am not saying Obama didnt go to two of our best Universities, great for him, but why not show the public what it has asked for? Everyone else has…

Palin is a great example of what is worst about US politicians. In some ways it is great to have her stay in the news because it reminds everyone of how bad politicians can be and serves as a vision of what we do not want as leadership in this country. The people in Alaska must be truly some of the dumbest people in the world to have elected her. In any case, keep it up girl! I still think you need to bring your entire extended family onto the Jerry Springer show as a way to show its watchers how truly low a low lives can get.

I agree. The more exposure she gets the more convinced we are that the U.S. dodged a bullet in this election.

So, we’re supposed to believe that Barack Obama was elected as a result of “media malpractice”? What? Each campaign had an interface with the media. And nobody could’ve exposed anything about a candidate that wasn’t there to be exposed. But I must say, Sarah’s improved. She looks great in that color, and I think I heard a couple of actual sentences come out of her mouth. I guess, sometimes a little negative feed-back can really help a person correct their course.
