A Post-Election Talk-Show Future for Sarah Palin? A Right-Wing Oprah? A Velveeta Martha?

By The Etceterist

If Sarah Palin were a talk show host, who would she be? A little bit of Tyra? A little bit of Anne Coulter? A combo of both, chatting on both clothes and conservatism? A right wing Oprah?  The Velveeta Mooseburger Martha?

That is the question agents and managers at the top talent agencies in New York and Los Angeles began wondering over the weekend as they read the latest polls. Never mind that she is obliged to fulfill her term as governor of Alaska, a star is born, repeat, A Star is Born. And these agencies have just a few weeks to finalize their pitches to America’s most famous hockey mom, proposing the amazing deals they can do for her in the fields of books, television, radio, endorsements, moose hunts … you name it.

Here are a few of the ideas blowing in the wind … and in the minds of Hollywood’s and New York’s talent packagers:

— Room on "The View."
— A weekly "60 Minutes" segment with Sarah and Hillary Clinton reviving the 70s-era "Point-Counterpoint" style debates between Shana Alexander and the conservative James J. Kilpatrick.
— Her own daily talk show, positioned as the anti-Ellen.

While the talk show idea is said to play to Palin’s particular communications strengths, consensus is forming that a media career of some sort is in the stars if, as is increasingly likely, she does not find herself in Washington D.C. as Vice President this January.

Revelation makes no reference to an “anti-christ”…just a big ol’ scary beast! By Ms. Dee on 10/13/2008 8:38 pm Ms. Dee, I beg to differ. You are indeed incorrect in your statement, as the book of Revelation speaks very clearly to those that have eyes to see that indeed the anti-christ is spoken of. The “Big ol’ scary beast you speak of, is in reference to the to the one world political, religous, educational and monetary systems and not the anti-christ. but be not fooled, that system will suffer a great wound, not a flesh wound, but will fall apart and Satan will then come in in an attempt to heal this deadly wound and will, to the majority of the people, cause them to think that he is God and will fix all the worlds ill’s

Paw Paw, the best description of Satan in the Bible is found in Ezk 28:11-19, and is basically a description of his beauty and wisdom and how God created him along with the description of Satans purpose, up and untill his fall from grace. But as I stated he is not described as being of any nationality, as he is not of flesh and blood but rather, a supernatural being. and when he does appear on the scene he will more than likely appear as one would think Christ to look like, which is all in the plan he will enact to decieve the multitudes. Hope this helps. :)

THANK YOU SO MUCH ….

I have to add my little tidbit, here. The Book of Revelation is intentionally written in a ‘code’ form, and no one person has the exact understanding and interpretation of it. Regardless of what they may tell you. It is written symbolically as a means of depicting a new and different time, a time of confusion and wisdom both colliding in a world of chaos. It is still an open-ended writing, as I understand it, in which we must interpret and comprehend the so called ‘end times’ in accordance with God’s plan for all of humanity. Each one of us comprehends and understands differently. Thus, the reason for the mixed interpretations of the book. Also, for how many centuries, I cannot know, people have been declaring the ‘end times’ are near. Each era, each his\herstorical period is filled with interpretations of Revelation which has convincing arguments why the end of time is near and about to come upon all humanity. The best information I have thus far, is the text in which the author says: “… Jesus will return as a thief in the night…” which means no one has the knowledge or time table of when this is to occur. So, let’s all just get on with our lives, do the best we can, and pray it is right and good. The rest will be taken care of.

All this discussion of an anti-Christ is very interesting. By definition doesn’t “anti” = displaying opposite characteristics? Wouldn’t an anti-Christ therefore be evil by nature and female by gender?

Antichrist’ is translated from the combination of two ancient Greek words αντί + Χριστός (anti + Christos). In Greek, Χριστός means “anointed one” and Christians apply it to Jesus of Nazareth.[1] αντί means not only anti in the sense of “against” and “opposite of”, but also “in place of”.[2] Therefore, an antichrist opposes Christ by substituting himself for Christ.’

Very educational, thank you Barbara. (I perused “dictionary.com” which offered mainly modern day definitions.)

Very good Barbara! However, you will never see the two trains meet in other words Christos=”The Annointed one” assimulates with Jesus Christ, whereas the anti-christos is always in referrence to Satan. :)

I have read Revelation more than once, and I decided a long time ago that if Christians could interpret this lengthy and powerful metaphor as it applies to their own personal evolution in their faith, they’d gain something far more useful than those who externalize it into world affairs. We’ve all had our beasts and our trumpets and our remorse and our triumph and our surrender, eras of peace, and times when people we’ve grown accustmed to are just caught up in the air. Both internal and extenal applications may have their validity, but too often we ignore the expansion of personal understanding that Revelation can offer, and instead use it as a talisman to breed fear and suspicion of other nations, or as a weapon to beat other people over the head.

Anti in the english language as we know it would tell you that anti means against, i.e. anti-freeze act against the fuel lines of your car not freezing up in the dead of winter. However, one must go back to the original Hebrew and Aramaic texts, also the Greek defines anti as “Instead of” not against. Therefore, if Satan were to arrive on the scene acting “against”, well…He sure wouldn’t get very far in the decieving of the people, even one with little or no intelligence, would be hip to his intended purpose and therefore again, would lose the battle in his ability to decieve. And, countrywoman, truth be known, you are correct, those in a spiritual body are indeed of no gender, especially Satan as he was a cheribum, which was an Angel with the sole purpose of gaurding the mercy seat. He fell from God’s graces as he thought he would not only gaurd the mercy seat, he wanted to seat in it and be as God, and only God can grant mercy to his children. Thus the fall of Satan.

OK, since we are way off subject - a friend talks to me about Revelations, but I already know he slants stories about almost everything. I take what he says with a grain of salt. He talks about when they finish building the Temple, the Antichrist will then come. And the temple is almost built. Plus have one currency for the world. Elaine if you know anything about the Temple I’d be interested. His comments come from a book and radio programs, plus whatever he decides to add. For thousands of years people have said the end is coming soon. People can twist and interrupt almost anything. I’m not sure anyone can predict when the end is near.

well ..lol..Im so sorry to knock everyone off subject truly iam, However i need help here because I truly do NOT think that is in the bible!! the age and race of the anti christ! i have been reading the bible forever and i can not find that!
HA BIBI
It’s all good, sometimes conversations avert themselves in another direction. I hate to say this but your friend is mistaken, there will be no rebuilding of a physical temple, i.e. A building of sorts. When the temple was destroyed, Christ stated that in 3 days, I will rebuild the temple…That temple is his ressurection from death to life and that the many membered body of Christ is that temple and that Christ is the cornerstone of that temple. Barbara, stick to the word of God, not what man says, me or anyone else. I’m not going to mislead you but God wants you to know what he has to say and it is all in the word. And, by testing the words of man to the word of God, you will not be decieved. As if what man says, doesn’t line up with the word of God, then that man or any man becomes a liar. As far as the end, you are right, as no man knoweth the hour or the day, not even Christ who sits at the right hand of the Father in Heaven, but only God knows these things. However, Christ stated that the generation of the fig tree would surely not pass until all these things have come to be, the end, meaning the end of this dispensation of time. We are in that generation, as that came to be when Isreal became a nation in 1948. Again Barbara, test the word of God and see that these things are written. :)

Elaine, Thanks again. I don’t really trust what my friends says, I also feel people interrupt God’s word into their own beliefs. And how do you know this is true… “We are in that generation, as that came to be when Isreal became a nation in 1948. “
