Sarah Palin Turkey Murder Interview (Video)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Poor bird.

Sarah Palin appeared on a local news station on Thursday to pardon a turkey from slaughter in anticipation for Thanksgiving. Upon pardoning a bird, the fallen vice-presidential candidate did an interview. As the Alaska governor spoke to a reporter about serious issues, she was totally oblivious that a worker was slaughtering a turkey behind her! For more than three minutes, Palin spoke about the campaign trail and her plans for sprucing up Alaska’s economy (amid plummeting oil prices, Alaska’s prize commodity). Meanwhile, watch the clip below to see what happened to the poor bird in the background:

Frank, Did you ever see the movie, Fast Food Nation? When they show the cattle slaughter? Talk about inhumane! This turkey thing is mild compared to that! It put me off most beef forever….well, occasionally when I’m in Columbus, I crave a Thurman Hamburger because they are the best in the whole country. :)

Let me put it this way to you—if people saw how cattle are slaughtered they’d be off beef for life. As for great hamburgers—the single best i’ve ever tasted since I was a teenage hamburger addict is Frisko Freeze in my home town, Tacoma WA> Awesome burger—Used to see a notable governor of Washington state there buying his week fix lolol

Darlin’, I would pit the Thurman’s hamburger against anyone’s in the country! I get the one with bleu cheese. But, w’out the bacon and everything else on it…they use the best local beef and cook it medium well (no pink inside), but it is still as juicy as can be. But, each passing year, I eat less and less red meat. For one thing, I want it to be local. I like to know where my food comes from. Ditto for fish and seafood. Our inspection does not compare to what it did 20 years ago. It is 20 outside and very cold here in Central Kentucky!

i didn’t watch the clip, but it’s probably more humane than the turkey packing line where i used to work in arkansas. (that made me a vegetarian.)

Sweetie, they are killed this way. Our meat doesn’t come onto this earth shrink wrapped in cellophane. I have memories back during the war when it was legal to keep chickens of Grandmother grabbing the chickens, wringing their necks, thus rendering them instantly dean, and then hanging them on the clothesline to bleed. Go watch Fast Food Nation.

What’s with the “Sweetie??? I know our meat doesn’t come shrink wrapped, but at least with your Grandma it was quick. This method was not.

Your reply and my 2nd reply crossed paths by a second. I know I am naive about such things and that’s why I asked the question. I am glad we can continue to respond to one another :)

You know Diana, My friends Frank and Mary Lou already answered my question is a respectful manner. There was really no need to reply again unless it was to add the sarcasm. I am sorry you found it necessary to do so. You have always been someone I have admired because you never used such tactics in your replies.

Go watch Fast Food Nation. Better yet, READ it! That book was the catalyst in my becoming veg… *shudders* And HELL NO I am NOT clicking the “play” button on THAT video — are these people serious?!

Kryssi, I had to turn away and turn off the sound on my TV during that part of the news I was watching on CNN. I didn’t want to change the channel because I wanted to see the rest of the news. It just makes me sick, though how she continues to act like it is no big deal. Where is the line, here? Or, is there one? Do you know there are some people, even in America, who kill dogs and eat them? And, do we all know when we eat meat from a Restaurant, or Fast Food place that it is really beef? It is getting really nutsy out here, folks.
