Sarah Palin Turkey Murder Interview (Video)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Poor bird.

Sarah Palin appeared on a local news station on Thursday to pardon a turkey from slaughter in anticipation for Thanksgiving. Upon pardoning a bird, the fallen vice-presidential candidate did an interview. As the Alaska governor spoke to a reporter about serious issues, she was totally oblivious that a worker was slaughtering a turkey behind her! For more than three minutes, Palin spoke about the campaign trail and her plans for sprucing up Alaska’s economy (amid plummeting oil prices, Alaska’s prize commodity). Meanwhile, watch the clip below to see what happened to the poor bird in the background:

Yes. She’s stupid, too stupid to understand that other people’s perceptions may differ from hers. That being said, if you’re eating animals, you might as well understand how those animals end up on your plate, otherwise you’re engaging in self delusion to much the same extent as Palin is.

The problem with Palin, Marina, is that I don’t think she’s deluded. I think she’s loving every minute of the gore, even though I’m sure she knew children, likely her own children, would be watching. The paradox is that when she read the “Pardon Proclamation” she said something like… “As a friend to creatures great and small…” She is just plain horrible.

Maurine, she’s obviously indifferent to the gore. I don’t know whether she loves the gore; I haven’t heard stories that she tortures animals to death for the sheer fun of it, though aerial hunting certainly comes as close to that as it is possible to come. But as far as slaughtering animals or hunting them for food, is one really morally superior in any meaningful way if one pays someone else to do the deed because one doesn’t want to do it one’s self? And, if one buys meat in a grocery store or restaurant, isn’t that effectively what one is doing?

You are funny! I also love “Civet de Lapin” with a rich red wine like Burgundy or Cotes du Rhone.

As I enjoy my turkey at Thanksgiving, I will give thanks to the people that bring us the turkeys! I’m glad I don’t have to purchase them live!

I think the person doing this interview should lose their job. There was no way she could know what was going on behind her. But her interviewer did and I consider this a hatchet job. I don’t like her politics but this is un-necessarily cruel. These turkey interviews are give for the press, they are a gift. Setting her up like this is stupid.

Beverly - Please read my earlier post. Sarah Palin was TOLD that the turkeys were being slaughtered on camera and she said “No worries.”

Yes, that’s what was reported on CNN, among other news media.

You are all a bunch of big cry babies. Typical of most of America that they have no idea where their food is produced. Most of the world eats meat and guess what, it has to be killed, skinned or plucked. Animals and plants die and that is the way of the world. And before you get started on your “vegetarian” thing, let me tell you another thing, more animals are killed and pushed from their homes because of the amount of vegetables that are eaten. More fields are plowed up and more fence rows and forest pockets are pushed down to produce vegetables than are used to make meat. And another thing, only about 3% of plants are edible on this planet for humans. It makes me crazy how many people in this country are so insensed by this kind of thing. I have a six year old boy and a nine year old daughter that have been involved in the killing and butchering of thier own farm animals and wildlife and they too laugh at folks like you.

Ken, you really need to do some actual research before you make blanket, ill informed pronouncements. There are lots of actual scientific studies that show, unequivocally, that the higher up on the food chain you eat, the bigger the “footprint” that you leave on this planet. Your decisions are yours, but before you try to ridicule others’ decisions, you would be wise to know the actual facts, otherwise you just end up looking not only ignorant but stupid.

You are missing the point. The point is, the fact that Palin would allow herself a photo op in front of animals being slaughtered is another indication of this woman’s total incompetence.

Sounds sick to me too.

I wonder, though, would there BE as many animals to “kill and push from their homes” if, say, we weren’t having to BREED them over-abundantly in the first place (as in response to demand of mass carnivorous consumption)???
