Sarah Palin's Saturday Night Live Appearance (Video)

Tina Fey and Sarah Palin didn’t exactly share the stage on Saturday Night Live.  But dressed exactly alike, they did both appear along with Alec Baldwin and Lorne Michael in a wry but subdued opening skit.  Later in the show, she appeared on the Weekend Update news desk while Amy Poehler performed  riotously funny Palin rap.  While no minds were changed by the Governor’s performance, she easily passed the SNL trial by fire.

Jennifer, Up here, we natives still use Miss. My granddaughters, I call Miss Em and Miss Laura. We use it at work, without even thinking about it. The younger ones at the office seem to think it’s normal, as well as us oldsters. My friend in Ohio is getting used to my saying it. So, now, you will be Miss Jennifer.

Miss Diana, I really like the culture and traditions that are endearing! Coming to the South from Southern Cali, born and raised in Malibu . And many years in San Diego , their is no culture outside of Surfing! Not to knock surfing, I was one of the first girl surfers on the mainland. Surfed until I had a spinal fusion. Not being able to do so anymore is part of why I felt I could leave the Pacific Ocean. In doing so, I found I Love Trees and Bayous! Oh! Our Saints just got their pants kicked. Now they can not afford to lose another…Carolina sure has a good team this year.

Jennifer, This is what I worry about the most as we approach Election Day: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/10/19/132343/11/189/635454

Jennifer, I just saw this on Salon, and think it is very well written. I think Powell’s endorsement this morning was an indictment of the direction the Republicans have chosen as much as it was an endorsement of Obama. http://www.salon.com/opinion/walsh/election_2008/2008/10/19/powell_endor…

Yeah, great. And now Obama has said he will call upon the guy who — as I recall — held up that little vial of white powder at the UN seeking justification to go to war — for steady advice during his administration. How comforting.

glad to see someone remembers that it was Colin Powell who stood before the UN and justified us getting into this war and in fact endorsed that too! So Obama beware of those whom endorse you! some of us remember! it could back fire!!! LC

Linda, I couldn’t remember the details, but I do remember that Colin Powell was part of the setup to convince the Congressional voters to go to war. Up until then, he was a respected General.

Read Marc Rubin’s article and now it is all coming back to me: Colin Powell, who in spite of an illustrious career will always be known as the man who, as Secretary of State made the presentation to the UN which made the case for the most dishonest and disastrous foreign policy and military decision in American history, has endorsed —guess who? — Barack Obama as the person who had the judgment to be President. … What could Colin Powell possibly say about Gov. Palin that could even matter… or that anyone would listen to, for that matter.

Just wondering, what would you be saying about Powell if he had endorsed your candidate? Honestly, I don’t think this endorsement amounts to a hill of beans to most Americans.

Susan: …what would you be saying about Powell if he had endorsed your candidate? I’d probably have the same reaction. Endorsements don’t mean much in the long run.

You’re right. Most voters are so uninformed, they don’t even know who Colin Powell is.

Marjorie, it’s really easy to point fingers after the fact… your eyes were not blinded by Colin, they were blinded by George. Colin is not god, but he’s a damn sight better than dubya! Sarah Palin = Dan Quayle w/ Lip Gloss!

And then he quit—the man still has integrity unlike McCain—who doesn’t know the meaning of the word
