Stolen Jamie Lynn Spears Breast-Feeding Photograph Causes Federal Investigation

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Federal authorities have launched a child pornography investigation in search of an allegedly stolen photograph of teenage mom Jamie Lynn Spears breast-feeding her baby — with her left breast exposed, according to reports yesterday.

That is just one of 12 photographs that law-enforcement sources told the gossip website TMZ.com that they are on the hunt for. Authorities told TMZ that other photographs allegedly stolen include pictures of Britney Spears, Jamie Lynn, daughter Maddie and the baby’s father, Jamie Lynn’s fiancé Casey Aldridge. The photographs were taken on Casey Aldridge’s digital camera memory card, which Aldridge dropped off at a Louisiana Wal-Mart to make copies of, TMZ reported. A person may have gotten their hands on the images, allegedly made extra copies and may be shopping them around, sources told TMZ.

Jamie Lynn Spears is best known as the younger sister of the fallen pop star Britney Spears. She also starred in the Nickelodeon television series "Zoey 101." When Spears announced she was pregnant at age 16, the news shocked the nation, raising awareness that teen pregnancy is very much an issue in today’s society.

A Wal-Mart spokesperson told TMZ that they were shocked by the allegations and will try to get to the bottom of it.

"We saw the story on the wires and it’s news to us too. We’ll of course investigate what, if anything, has happened here."

According to TMZ, because Jamie Lynn is a minor, the seller and the buyer of the breast-feeding photograph could constitute a violation of federal child pornography laws and land both in prison.

Call Your Senators If you choose to contact your senators by phone, be sure to tell them, “Vote yes on Senate Bill 1738—The PROTECT Our Children Act.” Write to Your Senators If you choose to write a letter, fax, telegram or e-mail, you may use the following sample letter—and modify it how you see fit. Dear Senator: I know that you believe, like I do, that we must do everything possible to protect children from sexual predators. That is why I am asking for your help. Last year alone, U.S. law enforcement identified over 300,000 criminals who were trafficking in movies and pictures of young children being raped and tortured. Experts say that one in every three of these criminals has local child victims. Child pornography trafficking over the Internet has given us a trail of evidence that leads straight to their doorsteps, but the vast majority of these children will never be rescued because investigators are overwhelmed, outnumbered and underfunded. As your constituent, I urge you to do everything in your power to pass the PROTECT Our Children Act (S. 1738, Biden-Hatch). This bipartisan legislation passed the House 415-2, but it is now the victim of petty partisan politics. Now that we know where these children are and how to protect them, there is no excuse for the Senate to fail to take action this session.

He couldn’t use a computer to make digital copies of the pix? I know folks who are computer-illiterate, yet they know not to leave “family” photos at the nearest Wal-mart. Puh-lease. He was trying to profit. Even celebrities have to take the blame for idiotic moves and motives.

First off, I am not excusing the idiot employee that stole Jamie’s photos; he/she should be prosecuted when/if they are discovered. However I have to say this or I’ll burst. The photos were taken on a digital camera. Everyone who owns a digital camera knows they can print their photos directly from their computers in their homes. You need only have photo paper in a color printer or use the photo processing printer that comes standard with certain cameras. When you are a celebrity and hold a certain level of notoriety, you know that there are things that you may have done before you were famous that you can’t do. You can’t go for a stroll in Central Park with not a drop of makeup on, unless you want the photogs to take your picture. You can’t (and shouldn’t) step out of a car with no underwear on in a skirt, unless you want the phototogs to take your picture. And you certainly should not drop off photos of yourself breast feeding your child WITH a breast exposed at a Wal-Mart! Jamie Lynn and her family have more than enough money to afford to have the photos printed in her home on their own printing equipment. Lord, I am not a celebrity and I assure you no one knows me or could care less about what my breasts look like, and I would never drop off digital photos at a Wal-Mart! True, if she wanted to have pictures processed of herself that depict her naked, she should have the right to do so. I’m not arguing that, so please be clear of what I am saying. The point is not that she can’t do it; it is why did she choose to do it? Knowing she is in the public eye and clearly notable. I think it is another example of a celebrity using really poor judgment and forgetting that they are no longer the nameless face in the crowd. With success and celebrity comes a heightened degree of personal space and responsibility on their parts. This in my mind shows poor judgment on her part AND on the part of the clerk who stole her photos. Lastly, funny how the father of her baby isn’t being prosecuted for having sex with a minor…..I find that quite curious how some boys are and some aren’t. The laws in this regard really need to be changed.
