Thankfully, Everyday Surgery With Rachael Ray

Rachael Ray will be undergoing throat surgery on December 16, reports People magazine.

The surgery will remove a small, benign cyst on her vocal cords. The cooking guru denied earlier reports that the surgery was serious or related to throat cancer, saying: “It’s fine, it’s just a little bump. I need to get rid of it though.”

The usually talkative host claims that the most difficult part of the surgery will be remaining quiet. “I’m having voice surgery on December 16, so we’re going to celebrate very quietly,” Ray said at Rosie’s Gala on Monday night, reported Entertainment News. “A lot of people have told me about the surgery and they say the hardest part is just being quiet.” She also stated that she will be forced to communicate through notes. “I’m going to grow back the callous I had in grade school from writing,” Ray joked.

"The Rachel Ray Show" will resume production in January.

I wonder if this cyst has anything to do with her raspy speaking voice. Either way Rachel, best of luck to you! Here’s hoping the surgery goes off without a hitch.

Belinda, I was wondering the same thing. Her voice is raspy and so deep. I wish the best of luck to Rachel, I really love her show and I really like it when she sits in on “The View”. She’s always so upbeat and fun to watch.

Rachel’s not one of my favorites on the foodnetwork. Just a bit too chatty. But I do like some of her receipes, I just turn down the vol. I do wish her well though and back at work asap.

With all the infections lurking in our hospitals, I don’t consider any incision “everyday” anymore. Maybe it’s at an out-patient clinic. At any rate, she’s a little ray of sunshine, if you ask me. I hope and pray she’ll comes through it swiftly without the slightest complication. But as long as she has to be still…she should come on here and chat with all of us. Wouldn’t that be fun!

you are so right on risk—-i was mis-dxd with an infected cysts—-shot full of anti-biotics—-got worse—-dumb drs. have become the rule—-so this jerk gives me a surgeon’s appt. 2 weeks away—-my face had ‘half-a-cantalope’ hideous infection—-i called his boss, who Immediately shot me to a plastic surgeon who took one look, dressed himself in plastic, called 2 assistants to hold me down, and sliced away, goop flew everywhere, then he vacuumed a huge facial cavity—-remarking on my high pain-tolerance—- seems it was obviously ‘septic’—-i had hours to live—-why he wasted no time—-these days? ‘Bonzo’ may easily, given loot, be an MD.—-be careful—- if ya time? better ‘shop-around’.
