By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Prices at the pump hit another record high Thursday as the average national cost per gallon of regular gas jumped 2.3 cents overnight to $3.556, according to AAA. Whose fault is this? How long will prices hover in this expensive range? Click here to read the story on Yahoo and click here to read about one Wisconsin gas station owner who shut down his pumps in protest. Princess Grace - if you haven’t tried it, there is a homeopathic remedy by Professional Complimentary Health Formulas called Vertigo Syncope Drops - helped me. It still comes on every so often and I just use the drops.

I drive a Mercedes Sports Sedan that gets 32 mpg. I’m happy with that. I only drive when necessary. I admire the Prius drivers of the world…though I’ve noticed most of them relish going about 30 miles per hour in a 55 zone…saving the planet one traffic jam at a time.

I thrill to my Prius! I don’t really consider it driving anymore; it’s more like entertainment. I AM wondering how long you keep your 50. Is that with winter fuels, as well? I am getting 47 or 48, less in winter (CO state mandated additives.) Hurah for the best built automobile in many years. Knowing Engineer

I blame the gas companies. It’s called greed. Greed seems to run amuck in this world lately. Why is it that the gas CEO’s are claming all this profit? Higher profits year to year. It’s because they keep raising the prices. It’s getting terrible. I can remember a few months ago one of the big gas companies claimed a 90% profit. That’s just greed and I’m tired of it. Will shutting down the pumps help like this guy did in Wisconsin? NO! It will just raise the prices even more. Hey, those CEO’s need to go on their fancy vacations and buy their fancy homes and cars and such. I think the government should do something about it. Freeze the price of gas or something.

Marie? Are you really that naive? “The government” do something about the “oil companies”? Bush and Cheney ARE OIL. Exxon, the second largest company in the world, wrote our “Energy Plan” behind closed doors with the Dick Cheney, the biggest shareholder in the company he headed, and which is profitting so greatly on the illegal war that HE started. Oil services company Halliburton is handed tens of billions in no-bid contracts, Dick Cheney’s stock is up in value by tens of millions, and Halliburton has moved its HQ to the Middle-East to off-shore profits. Please give me a break! It’s Christmas everyday for them and their friends. They could care less about anything but their profits. BIG OIL IS EVIL. We have the technology to harness solar. The sun gives off more energy every second than has been used in all of history. HERE’S THE SOLUTION: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Heku9oTLysg Exxon=LIARS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIorjvdBku8 Dick Cheney KNEW in 1994 that going into Iraq would turn into a death-spiral quagmire…here he is saying so. We are there FOR OIL PROFITS. The government do something??!! They did something all right, planned and executed an evil oil war to profit themselves and their oil friends. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3i-mksZODSs&NR=1

As long as we buy it, regardless of price, it would be stupid for the oil companies to not charge more. It’s a perfect lesson on capitalism.

I totally agree with Marie and Kate. No matter how high they jack up the prices, Americans remain enslaved to their cars. If they can charge $3.50 a gallon, and continue to see record profits, why not charge $4.50? I have changed the way I use my car. Because there’s no public transportation available to get me to work, I use my car for my short commute ONLY. Everything else, I walk or use one of the convenient modes of public transport available here in Philly. Once I get home from work in the evening, that’s it, the car stays parked till the next morning. Also, I allow myself plenty of time, which gives me the luxury of driving gently. I don’t drive as aggressively as I used to, I keep to the speed limit…..it’s very relaxing. A tank of gas used to last me about a week. After altering my lifestyle, that same tank now lasts 2 weeks.

For those who don’t have good public transportation…how about linking up with rideshares via Craigslist.com in your area?

Princess - years ago when I commuted to LA on a daily basis - the best thing I ever did was carpool. I keep bringing it up at meetings etc. No one wants to listen. During the 84 olympics we had a great carpooling system and there was hardly any traffic, smog went down. It would be a start - we all know that so much more has to change - especially the vehicles etc, but right now it would hit the oil companies some. I drove one week out of the month - because there were 3 others in our group. If I had an appointment I took my own car. It was the easiest thing, saved money etc. At that time LA had a computer list you could get on and match up. With techno today it would be even easier to hook up. People are crazy, they don’t want to let go of their cars. Crazy

Wrong question. The question should be, why have our leaders allowed the U.S. dollar to become so devalued? Who is benefiting from our pain? Impeach. Convict. Execute the traitors.
