By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Prices at the pump hit another record high Thursday as the average national cost per gallon of regular gas jumped 2.3 cents overnight to $3.556, according to AAA. Whose fault is this? How long will prices hover in this expensive range? Click here to read the story on Yahoo and click here to read about one Wisconsin gas station owner who shut down his pumps in protest. Can protesting reverse the trend? Can anything?

Thank you so much for your kinds words. I just don’t understand why people can’t get past the fact I am a conservative, I thought this was a website for all women—of all political beliefs. I saw a few posters that seem to have similar opinions as mine, but I noticed once they expressed their views, they were insulted or criticized and I never saw them again. I just happened upon this website on Monday after seeing the link to Whoopi’s remarks on Drudge. I really had never heard of it before—have many conservative women posted comments on here before me? If not, that is really sad, because hearing the same views over and over is not interesting. It appears that certain people here have decided that this is their turf and no outsiders are allowed. You and Ginny seem like thoughtful, intelligent, interesting women, and I really enjoyed reading your opinions and thoughts. I wish you the best. God bless your dear son.

Michael, the little guy has to incite anger just to get attention from women who would otherwise cross the earth rather than come into contact with him. I mean, any time a person has to defend his statements and his existence by claiming that he’s attractive to women (excuse me, I’m laughing so hard my fingers are getting weak)…..pathetic. You know what I was wondering? How’s come the little guy no longer has a photo for his display image? Back to the topic at hand, I can’t help but recall reading about the bus boycotts caused by Mrs. Rosa Parks’ refusal to give up her seat. The blacks, who were the primary funding for the bus service, brought public transportation to its knees in that one town. The point is, to enforce a principle about which they felt very strongly, those working-class folks found ways to get to work. They carpooled, they rode bikes. I believe there is something we can do to bring Bush’s oil buddies to their knees. Stop relying on their overpriced fuel. Find other ways to get around. If enough people did it, Bush and his Arab friends would have no choice but to sit up and take notice.

Michael - you don’t need to be here to protect anyone. Who do we need to be protected from? If he is obnoxious to you don’t read his posts. Simple - what is the big deal?

Well, “dr.” McGin—got the cause-effect a bit backwards….but then ‘neither’ of you are real big on logic…and ge you think soooooo much alike even for ditto-head Freepers…..it’s like you share the same body and so-called mind. think the earnings premium on ivy league grad degrees is falling with every keystroke/

McGin-Klein…..thanks for stating in writing that coming onto a site flaming on women from the get go, getting a predictable response to hate speech is justification that “you” support as cause for hating women. Hmmm, Freepers will be ZOTTED..you may fool the others but not me. “Judging by the way all of you treat him, I can see why he hates women.” Don’t you have something ELSE to do McGin-Klein?????

It’s us. We agreed to everything that promised us a chance to save 50 cents. We outsourced our productivity to buy it back for 50 cents less. We outsourced our personal responsibility to local govt., county govt., state govt., and federal govt., sayin’ politics isn’t our thing. And so we outsourced ourselves for about 50 cents on the dollar. Ya git what ya give. Adult folk are actin’ like the kid we tell to be careful on their bike. They don’t really believe anything bad can happen to them. They haven’t reached that developmental stage to ‘internalize’. We need to grow up real fast. Real real fast. Someone said recently and I can’t remember who, some economist I think, ‘We’re the only rich country that is third world.’ A couple of national sick days in a row for starters folk and stay home. Don’t drive, don’t go to the company stores. This is much much more serious and sinister than most folk will allow themselves to think through. We are systematically bein’ takin’ out! The foundation is implodin’ from the bottom up and will go all the way to takin’ out the lower upper class. All those who were afraid to look down for fear of fallin’ will fall. It is your fear to see the Tree from the bottom up that is the biggest tool of the multinats and the pimpin’ lawyers and prostitutin’ legislators. As we speak 1 in 6 planatarians are without water or without food and sometimes both. Emigration has already begun all over the planet. Why do you think the Bushkid wants to put up Walls everyplace? My gawd are we Rip VanWinkle? Stuperd stupid?

The current crop of alternative fuels cannot compete on any level with oil. The short term solution is to drill for oil in this country. Eventually, cold fusion could be a permanent solution. Open question to everyone—can anyone explain the hostility displayed toward conservative points of view on this site? Did I miss the sign on the Home Page that said “Liberal Women Only”? Why don’t you “kitties” (as Ginny so aptly put it) retract the claws already? Try, at least to be congenial to others with different points of view. And an aside to “Mugsy, Princess” et. al., how in the world could people who think they are so brilliant, possibly think that I was Dr. Klein? I read some of his posts and his views are nothing like mine—I never said anything about women and father’s rights etc.! Not to mention, it is clear he is a Dem and equally clear that I am not. Where’s Peggy Noonan?

Dr. McGinnis…. “The current crop of alternative fuels cannot compete on any level with oil. The short solution is to drill for oil in this country”. Major dittos on this one. Oh, if we were ALLOWED to do so. There is boo-koos of oil in the Gulf of Mexico — right off the coast of Florida. But the opinion there is “Not in our back yard”. Why not? Also, Alaska is loaded. There are several places to drill — but the opinion is “Oh, it’s too pristine”. They have oil drills that can drill sideways and under lakes in Alaska that are loaded with the “Texas Tea”. Last time I was in Alaska, the mosquitoes were so big you could ride them side/saddle. Ah, maybe another source of cheap transportation!

Ginny, US Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Tampa has filed a bill to ban oil and natural gas drilling within 213 miles off the Florida coast FOREVER. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-FL wants 125 mile buffer off the Panhandle and a 235 mile no drilling zone off the west coast of Florida. CUBA is planning to drill about 50 miles off the Florida Keys. Other countries include China, India, Spain and Canada. How can our country be so stupid as to let them come in the back door and take everything? It is so infuriating.

Klein ran for prez as a Republican…and this country has been destroyed by the Freepers/Fox/Bill O’Reilly/Ann Coulter etc with all of us trying to play nice and then the GOP putting out a booklet Tom Delay/Heritage and distributed all over the US to over 350 GOP activists saying “we are not debating liberals….we are wiping them off the face of this Earth using Stalinist tactics.” GOP is less than 2% of the world’s population and has given the world the HELL of the last 7 years. This is not the Eisenhower GOP this is the one he warned about. It isn’t an ideology is a sociopathetic, illegal, immoral group-think illness….. You people have destroyed this country, destroyed the economy, destroyed our world reputation, destroyed the environment, ruled by fear and hate……and are run by evil, mass murdering war profiteers….

We know how to make synthetic oil for $45 dollars a barrel. Also the massive increase will give inventors and corporations incentives to create new technologies. And we have to drill, drill, drill - China and India are sucking up the oil like never before. Speaking of the power of the collective: I’ve created a blog to help my friend who has had a long series of unfortunate events culminating last Friday in her daughter’s, 12, eye fracture, and car breakdown on the way to the ER. Her car is fixed but still in the shop because she doesn’t have the money to get it out. No car no income. The blog has all the gory details - and a way to contact me with suggestions - or anything else. http://friendlysurvival.blogspot.com/

Oil prices went through the roof during President Carter’s presidency and I don’t recall anyone blaming the American president for the creation of OPAC. Does anyone remember the long, long lines to the fuel pumps? The president was blamed for not handling the crisis but not for creating the crisis. Perhaps the same should be said of President Bush? There are 60,000 windmills-generating-power in an area of California east of Oakland, the largest windmill field in the world. Is it THE solution to our energy woes? I doubt it; but until cold fusion or another energy source is developed, those windmills, as silly as it seems, are helping.

Linda Clark
Right on, Bonnie! The issues surrounding energy and renewable resources is “not about who’s to blame”; but rather “what are we really committed to doing about it”! Wind power is an exceptional concept that is “actually being pursued around the country. Check out these two communities: Edgley, North Dakota - the Kenedy Ranch near Kingsville, Texas. …. They have stopped complaining and said yes to poductivity.
