Tina Fey Voted Entertainer of the Year, Thanks Her Lucky Stars for Sarah Palin

Tina Fey owes John McCain a big kiss.

Sarah Palin, the widely unknown governor of Alaska who shot to fame when McCain chose her as his Republican running mate, was undoubtedly the best thing to happen to Tina Fey. The 38-year-old producer and actress became one of the most popular women on television when she would appear on the sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live" as the conservative Palin. Fey’s impersonation of Palin was spot on — with her wink, accent (dropping the letter "g" at the end of words), her dodging of reporters’ questions, her repeated use of the word "maverick" and her beauty-pageant poses.

Her impersonations weren’t just funny, according to the Associated Press, they served a cultural impact. For it, Fey has been voted AP’s Entertainer of the Year, an annual honor chosen by newspaper editors and broadcast producers across the country.

Definitely, her impersonations had cultural impact. She was so spot on, and not over the top, and using Palin’s own words much of the time… it shined a big, bright light on Sarah Palin and the fact that this person could possibly end up a heartbeat from the presidency. Fey brought Palin to everyone’s attention and I am sure some who may not have given the situation as much thought gave it more.

Palin gave her plenty to work with… and Fey only had to BE her, use Palin’s own words, to shine a light on the fact that she was not prepared to be running for a VP spot. We dodged a bullet there.

Just can’t resist taking a dig at Hillary, can you. Palin said those things ACCORDING TO THE GOP people who were training her, but you probably don’t believe that because you don’t want to. Truth depends on what you want to believe, eh, Jim.

Her impersonation was on a par with doing an Amos ‘n Andy takeoff against the democrat candidate.

Except that she could use Palin’s own words and come off hillarious, that’s why it was so good.

Actually it was McCain that I heard say that she could see Russia - and that made me feel even worse about that ticket.

Palin’s so good.” Using Sandbee 54’s own words. Anyone here have the wit to understand my point?
