The current VP has not read the Constitution. The answer is in there. I think it was shredded before he had a chance to read it.

You behind-the-scenes WoW workers should have your photos posted on the site, too. I dig the witch icon, though.

Thank You Deborah! Love the avatar! I watched every second of it. I felt she tried to skirt most of Charlie’s questions in a way a kid might yell…”Look over here, don’t look at that!”….when getting caught having made a mess. I don’t trust her at all and I am disappointed that the focus on her as running mate is getting more attention than either presidential candidate. I would rather hear about McCain and his plans than about how Palin took a position that, in my opinion (and yes I have one), she put her daughter out to be exploited despite her insistence that she is off limits. I also think that if the young man who got her pregnant is actually 18, we call that rape in my state and he should be registered as a sex offender. I have one more thing…be it popular or not. If that young man was black, I believe this whole little story would play out quite differently. He would be arrested. An issue would be made of it. Now, while I realize I have left myself open for attack…before you jump….I have not blogged on all the political “stuff” swimming around here. This is all I have said and I have a right to my opinion. I am very worried about the state of our country and the interview with Mrs. Palin only confirmed my concerns.

New York Times. Palin’s record as mayor/govenor. Cronyism….hiring classmates for $95K yr jobs for which no experience, etc. “Good job, Brownie.” http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/14/us/politics/14palin.html?_r=1&hp=&adxn…

HoBo Economy Thanks Bush-McSame
Palin met by over 1,000 mostly female protestors “Bridge to deception” etc in AK. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/14/palin-met-by-hundreds-of_n_1262… Since AK is such a small place, ie 100K smaller than San Francisco (which is small and compact for a major city ie 7 sq miles) people are afraid to speak out against her as she is known for being vengeful and going after people, getting them fired etc…so amazing that people are daring to protest her there. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/14/palin-met-by-hundreds-of_n_1262… She also did things like as mayor if an office had 2 staplers make them return one and share the other [what stupidity—-waster more time waiting for/looking for/going to shared stapler than any small amount saved….but then bilked AK by submitting travel per diems for 300 (ie over 1/2 the time in office) for nights when was actually at home.

These articles shows me that there is hope…. That the people of Alaska are not fooled like the rest of the country. I only wish that it was all over the news unlike the “Palin Speech”… which she gives all of the time and everywhere she goes. My eyes watered after viewing this…. Thanks!

HoBo Economy Thanks Bush-McSame
Front Page Washington Post. Palin as Mayor of 5,000 pop town [bulk of her experience] manage $6M budget 53 employees and screwed that up royally. I’ve managed plenty of $3M- $30M construction projects that had up to thousands of workers/vendors/client groups. Managing $6M and 53 employees in a podunk town is NOTHING. And she screwed it up. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/13/AR200809

Excellent Bush Years Poster. McBush=More of the same. Alan Greenspan has said McSame’s economic policies will be disasterous for the US and that the US economy is already on the worst brink in a century. But what does Alan Greenspan know, right Bella, Star, Marjoire, etc? http://www.boingboing.net/2008/09/12/the-bush-years-poste.html

Thanks for the forum Deborah, I was wondering where we were to weigh in on the Palin disaster last night. I was horrified by Palin’s performance with Gibson last night! And what is most disturbing is that she did THIS badly in such a comfy, edited, Palin-friendly venue! She didn’t know what the “Bush Doctrine” is, she actually SAID she has foreign policy insight because you can “see” Russia from Alaska, and she answered “perhaps so” when asked about us going to war with Russia over Georgia ! This woman was not even AVERAGE last night, she was far below average. She sounded like the beauty pageant contestant she once was… not even like someone up to being the mayor of a Podunk little town of 6,000. We cannot take another 4 years of this crap from the Republican Party! McCain and Palin are a disaster.

The look on her face when he asked her about the “Bush Doctrine” almost — but not quite — made me feel sorry for her. Pathetic. It’s like not knowing what the three branches of government are! She was, at best, unprepared for this interview. And that indicates a failing — a cavalier attitude about learning essential information for your job — that would be unconscionable for any sitting VPUSA. My gawd, even my 16 year old daughter can define the “Bush Doctrine.” I wonder what kinds of questions she thought Charlie was going to ask her … all pipeline, all of the time?

i agree with you, frank. she learned her vice presidential catechism so far and turned all her questions into cues for her repertory. unfortunately, she didn’t know that it was george w. bush who initiated the doctrine that it’s ok to invade countries who have not harmed us. that, incidentally, now includes pakistan, because they share a border with afghanistan.

Because of 9/11, though, we probably have more of a right to stick our nose into the Afghan/Paki border than Iraq in search of Osama Pajama. But, yeah, that Bush Doctrine is bush-league. The only time a pre-emptive strike can ever be justified is if the country the U.S. is attacking has threatened us with pending military force, or if there is clear and irrefutable evidence that an attack is imminent. That’s why I never bought the WMD excuse for invading Iraq. Even if those weapons did exist, where was the imminent danger? I mean, using Bush’s dubious doctrine, the U.S. would have more right to attack Iran than it did Iraq, based on the nukes program and unveiled threats from Iran.
