NBC's Andrea Mitchell Gets Bombed by Balloons (Video)

NBC correspondent Andrea Mitchell was bombarded last night. Not by an angry mob or bullets in Iraq, but by balloons.
After John McCain gave his nomination acceptance speech at the Republican convention in St. Paul, MN, Mitchell was trying to give her report, summing up the effectiveness of the Arizona senator’s words. But she apparently positioned herself in exactly the wrong spot on the convention floor — right where hundreds of balloons were being released and spit out into the convention hall. Mitchell fruitlessly tried to bat the red, white and blue balloons away from her head.
Tom Brokaw dubbed the standup: "Andrea ‘Boom-Boom’ Mitchell and the Dance of the Republican Balloons." MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann called it "the political equivalent of Chuck E. Cheese."
NBC’s Brian Wilson said: "I’ve been in Ramadi [Iraq] with that woman with automatic weapons going off — that didn’t stop her, but it appears mylar has stopped Andrea Mitchell in her tracks."

That was one of the funniest moments of the convention for me, I laughed my head off. Here is this serious, accomplished news woman trying to fend off a slew of balloon and make vaid and serious comments…..it was priceless!
I, too, had to chuckle. She never truly emerged.
Where’s the play button??
Andrea, What a pro! You were absolutely drowning in balloons and yet you continued on. I think the other commentators were amused and impressed by your professionalism. boom boom, when I heard that name said I wasn’t sure it was an old nickname or just made up. it might stick.
What was that lady behind you doing anyway? Was she helping you or not? Looked like she was piling more balloons up onto you??? this video is forever and may follow you as a loving tribute.
Mrs. Alan Greenspan is every bit as much of a pro as her “old man.”
Am I the only who does not have a play button on my screen to view the video. There is no play button.
I couldn’t find the play button either so you’re not alone
