'The View' Ladies Tussle Over Obama, Bill O'Reilly and Who's a Communist (Video)

Things got heated once again on Wednesday’s episode of ABC’s "The View" — and, not surprisingly, Elisabeth Hasselbeck was at the center of some of it.

Barbara Walters asked Joe Behar, a Barack Obama supporter, and John McCain supporter Elisabeth Hasselbeck if there was ever a time they supported the opposite candidate.

Behar says she likes the McCain that’s easygoing backstage with ‘The View’ women, but “the John McCain I see right now is not the same John McCain I see onstage.”

When Walters asked Hasselbeck if she ever doubted anything about the Republicans, Hasselbeck surprised her colleagues by saying she almost supported Obama.

“When Barack Obama gave his speech … Barack Obama actually potentially could have had my vote after his speech at the DNC,” Hasselbeck said, referring to the Democratic candidate’s Democratic convention speech in August.

To that, Behar protested.

“You don’t believe me? Call me a liar then, Joy,” Hasselbeck said.

Behar: “You’re delusional.”

Hasselbeck, handing Behar her cup: “You want some more Barack Obama Kool-Aid?”

Behar: “That was low, but we’re OK.”

Behar also called Rush Limbaugh a "terrorist."

FOX News host Bill O’Reilly also made an appearance, promoting his new book, A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity.

One of the first comments he made was about Sarah Palin’s new $150,000 wardrobe.

“She’s doing exactly what Barack Obama told her – spreading the wealth around,” O’Reilly said. "She’s adopting a Democratic platform to spread that wealth."

O’Reilly also called Obama a "communist," and told Behar she’s a "Kool-Aid" drinker for believing everything the Democrats say.

Below is video of O’Reilly’s appearance.

she wanted to come across as a regular person - a soccer mom married to a Joe six-pack. They don’t have that type of clothing budget. Lots of executive women don’t either. Did I think she would do the shopping herself? No. .

Lots of excutive women have the time to buy on sale. I still think the information is suspect. How many outfits, at retail, can you buy for that amount of money? Again, nobody would be talking about this if she were a man!

Lucinda, You said if a man had bought 6 $1,800 suits no one would say anything, gosh the last time I did math that would have only been a little over $11,000 including tax. That’s no comparison. But I think the point when you bring a man into the situation is this………A man with qualifications to become the VP would more than likely be a very successful man and already have a wonderful Wardrobe.

The point is also that a man could get away with 6 suits, but a woman’s wardrobe is always scrutinized. I also read that Michelle Obama may have a few dresses from the Gap and Whit House/Black Market (or whatever it’s called), but her campaigning suits cost well over $1000.00 each — which doesn’t surprise me because she’s a lawyer and ran an important business in Chicago. Alaska is another world and they had to spruce her up for the lower 48. I still think the amount is HUGE and that’s why I think the number is suspect because a even $3000 an outfit, $150M would buy 50 outfits — and I’m confident she didn’t get 50 outfits @ that level. I’d like to see the details.

The fact that Rachel Madows star is rising gives me some hope. I agree with EKA Sayers - Bill O’Reily is mostly hot air. I think he is arrogant - he knows best and holds the moral compass. Elizabeth Cassidy- good point. Now will come Marjorie C., Star and C.O. too. C.O. says Sarah has to spend more because she is tall. Also they will ask how much the Obama’s spend. . I enjoy the women on this board - but then I will get mean and testy. My typos will go through the roof .

Personally, I don’t give a Crock of Beans how much money they spent on her wardrobe — I didn’t care when they criticised Pat Nixon because she wore a mink coat — I didn’t care whether Jackie Kennedy spent a fortune on clothes, sheets, etc. - I didin’t care how much Nancy Reagan spent on China for the White House. - They say the clothes will be given to charity — I would like to know which charity so I can get there early!

Lady Gator, That is just the point - give Sarah Palin a pass and Democratic candidates can’t do anything right. You don’t want us to discuss impropriety on their part. . As far as Bill O’Reily being a racist- he is. I don’t think he is a bigot. There is a difference. There are many examples of his views and statements that he has made over the years. I think he practices equal opportunity when it comes to dishing out rude behavior.

She is going to lose and it seems the least they could do is let her take that nice wardrobe home for heavens sake. We should all get a grip. How would you like to go out campaigning in what you have in your closet? She has worked hard and I for one as a Republican who had no intention of voting for a Republican ticket after 8 years of Bush in no way begrudge her that wardrobe. She’s earned at least that!

Oh, Beverly, if somebody wanted to drag me out on the presidential campaign trail, I’d suddenly understand why God made me buy about half the clothes in my closet!
