Vogue Editrix Anna Wintour to be Replaced? According to Media Gossip, Yes UPDATE

The lifecycle of the typical Vogue editor-in-chief has become fairly predictable. You are hailed as a genius and a fashion savant for a given number of years, and then a recession hits the ad business and you wake up to hear on the news you’ve been fired.

Today, the speculation all along the media caverns of Manhattan is that Anna Wintour, an indomitable character right out of a movie, say, "The Devil Wears Prada" — which was, in fact, penned by her former assistant — is awakening to this scenario and is being replaced by the younger, sexier, presumably webbier editor of French Vogue, Carine Roitfeld.

UPDATE: Media’s holiday schadenfreude-fest seems to be coming to an end as Wintour’s boss, Conde Nast CEO S.I. Newhouse denies fashion’s biggest gossip, saying "This is the silliest rumor I ever heard.”  We’ve heard that one before, too, but we’ll take this at face value.  For now.  (Source:  WSJ/Heard on the Runway)

Great pix and love her hair. She’s had a terrific ride and will do something else interesting. Hope she saved her money. DV didn’t and aft she left Vogue, she ran low. Jackie suggested that she head the Fashion Institute at MOMA and secretly augmented her salary.

Never been fond of her. The picture is interesting. She usually has that sucking-on-a-pickle look on her face. Like she thinks she is so much better than everyone else. And I think the Prada book showed that that’s exactly what she thinks. While she may be extremely talented and have an uncanny ability to spot fashion trends, I’d take a bit less attitude.

Not true. Wintour’s contract is coming to an end in the near future and she is thinking of calling it quits. It’s more like, editing a shrinking empire through an economic downturn is not her cup of tea! She has done it for 20 years!
