Vogue Editrix Anna Wintour to be Replaced? According to Media Gossip, Yes UPDATE

The lifecycle of the typical Vogue editor-in-chief has become fairly predictable. You are hailed as a genius and a fashion savant for a given number of years, and then a recession hits the ad business and you wake up to hear on the news you’ve been fired.
Today, the speculation all along the media caverns of Manhattan is that Anna Wintour, an indomitable character right out of a movie, say, "The Devil Wears Prada" — which was, in fact, penned by her former assistant — is awakening to this scenario and is being replaced by the younger, sexier, presumably webbier editor of French Vogue, Carine Roitfeld.

UPDATE: Media’s holiday schadenfreude-fest seems to be coming to an end as Wintour’s boss, Conde Nast CEO S.I. Newhouse denies fashion’s biggest gossip, saying "This is the silliest rumor I ever heard.” We’ve heard that one before, too, but we’ll take this at face value. For now.
