Was football player Chris Cooley trying to attract female fans?

Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley posted a nude picture of himself on his blog website Sunday. On Monday, he apologized for the explicit photo he used on his blog — chriscooley47.blogspot.com — where he took readers behind the scenes, posting a photo of himself studying a playbook … in the nude.

Cooley writes in a posting Monday afternoon after the picture was removed, "We are very sorry that we showed a penis on our website all day yesterday. That was by no means our intention and we did not want to offend anyone. The picture wouldn’t have been up for so long, but we were in the middle of winning a big game."

Apparently, he often studies in the buff, reports the San Jose Mercury News. The Associated Press reports that Cooley didn’t examine his photo closely before posting it.
