When Candice Bergen's Mind Wanders, Where Does It Go?

Candice Bergen
I like the part where your trainer counts repetitions and you go into instant autopilot and think about what you need to order from the 90th St. Pharmacy and how much you overpay the dog walker and what they’re eating down there at Dean & DeLuca on the corner. I also like the part where I correctly guess the time and it’s almost over. And I like trainers. Most of them. They’re kind and fun and interesting.

I agree. The mind certainly does wander. If I am not in the outdoors running or swimming or playing tennis, then I am at the gym and my mind goes into auto pilot. I like the time to let my mind wander. In some ways it is cathartic.

Yes, letting my mind wander while I’m on the treadmill makes the time go by faster. But I must say there’s nothing I really like about going to the gym. I’ve never understood when people say, “I feel so good afterward.” I just feel tired, hot, sweaty and wanna go home and shower NOW.

This is Jane Wagner, I missed my questions, Can I answer Now?I turn into Harriet Craig (remember that Joan Crawford movie) when I’m at the gym and I think of toxins and germbuild-up and I worry they’ll discover a Gym Flu bug that attacks our immune surveillance system.Too Bad you can’t get pumped by using hand sanitizer or lysol over&over. Use EdBegley’s best, not Lysol. Jane Wagner
