Whoopi Goldberg Flashes Her Tattoos (Video)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com
Whoopi Goldberg

Liz Smith and wowOwow got a whole lot of Whoopi Goldberg when we caught up with the entertainer after a recent taping of “The View.”

The conversation began with Goldberg chatting about her new children’s book, Sugar Plum Ballerina and the Discovery Channel deal that’s in the works with her handsome business partner, Tom Leonardis.

Things then got a bit off topic when Goldberg started talking about her three hidden tattoos. Actually, she did more than just talk about them - she showed us. And, thanks to the miracle of video, to you!

Watch this exclusive footage of Whoopi showing us all of her inkings and explains why her tattoo of Snoopy’s bird pal, Woodstock, came out orange, instead of yellow.

Get the Flash Player to view this video.

** Liz Smith’s exclusive interview with Whoopi Golberg will premier next week at wowOwow.com. During their conversation, Whoopi gives advice to President-elect Barack Obama, reveals family stories, and much more. Stay tuned … **

I never thought I would have a tatoo. However after going on a cruise and swimming with the dolphins when I got home I got a tatoo of a dolphin. Hurt like heck and I would never get another tattoo but I like the one I have and I’m proud of it. To each his own, I say. Just another way of exercising freedom of speech. Go Whoopi!

To think Woodstock forever resides on Whoopi’s bosom and gets wider and wider as years go by. Lucky little bird nesting in such a lovely place. Thomas Carew, a poet from years past, talking about a different kind of bird, nevertheless expresses what surely Woodstock must feel: Ask me no more of east or west The Phoenix builds her spicy nest; For unto you at last she flies, And in your fragrant bosom dies.

Gorgeous. I do love tattoos…on other people. I don’t know if it’s a lack of sound identity or I’m just a big ol’ chicken, but I can’t imagine ever getting one. My youngest boy has some beautiful dragons curling around his shoulders. But when it comes to body decoration, I honestly can’t wear the same pair of ear rings two days in a row.

I would get a small tatoo but I don’t like to see bodies covered with tatoos. I see women with snakes and spider webs all over. But it is their body. My mother tells me that at one time -pierced ears were not acceptable. Now almost everyone has them. I never got mutiple earpiercings because I swore that when my ears finally healed that was it. Now there is body piercing everywhere—-LOL.

Whoopi, those are exquisite! At age 58, I got my first tattoo two weeks ago on a rare girlfriend weekend at the beach. We’ve talked about it for years, and finally just did it, and took some great photos to commemorate the day. I now have a beautiful small peace dove, complete with green olive branch, on my right hip. My daughter was right…it’s only the first, and I did feel ten feet tall. I plan to get two more small peace symbols near it. It was a bit painful, but you can bet I never flinched, or Ramona (who came after me) would have bolted.

WowOWow! You are the coolest! I love listening to you on The View each day—you have such grace and wisdom and peace in your heart! Today, however was my last day of watching The View—I will never watch again. What Barbara said about Rosie—and everybody knows exactly who she was speaking of—was a load of crap! I used to respect Barbara but I’m not sure I do anymore. It was obviously such a scripted moment to gain another nugget of press for the show—she kept having to look at her card to figure out what she was going to say and the talking in your ears has got to stop! But I still love the Whoops-girl! I really wish you had been given a chance to say something incredibly fair-minded but they had obviously put the kabosh on you. I look forward to your posts here! Seriously, I will never watch that show again after Barbara’s disengenuous “act” today!

Oh I am glad this post was in our News letter, or I would have missed it. I have a tatoo and my kids have ones that the designed, some more than one. My Eldest Son’s girl friend Bree has what I think is the most amazing work of art in this medium I have ever seen. I am going to post a link to where you can have a peek. It will amaze you…http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=4433695&albumID=2031094&imageID=41111659

I don’t believe Whoopi practices that religion… ;-) Leviticus is the most hilarious chapter of that book.

Too many tatoos look terrible on anyone. Women look less attractive that have too many tatoos. Whoopi, keep them covered.

Women covered in tattoos look unattractive TO YOU. Funny how you TOLD her to keep them covered instead of prefacing it with “I think you should…” Frank, YOUR opinion does not give you the right to dictate such petty demands as to how OTHER PEOPLE (who do NOT affect you) should live their lives. Fortunately, none of this matters because why would any independent woman take seriously the suggestions of an oppressive pseudo-man who can’t even TOLERATE the idea of a non-traditional woman whom he cannot control…?

Kryssi: I’m still smiling after I read your post where you called me an opressed pseudo-man. What is an opressed pseudo-man? Whoopi Goldberg does affect my life. She is an Obama maniac. I love that Obama may have this Eric holder as Attorney General. He pardoned terroists who murdered people. People are taking their money out of the stock market because of him. Its great.
