Whoopi Weighs in on Sarah Palin and Reader Comments on Her Obama Post!

Whoopi Goldberg

Well, as I’m watching television this morning, it appears that John McCain may pick Gov. Sarah Palin, of Alaska, to appease all of those angry women — the ones who were going to vote for Hillary and then threatened to vote for John McCain — by just picking a woman. It’s expedient, and should make everybody feel better. After all, what do women actually know? They’ll pick any female, as long it’s not a guy. That kind of thinking is so insulting I don’t know what to say.

I’m sure Sarah Palin (we’ll find out more information on her) is a wonderful woman, but if you’re a Democrat why would you go for a Republican female that you don’t know much about just because she’s female? Has John McCain missed the point? Or is that the point? That these angry women are angry because a woman was not picked … not Hillary Clinton … but a woman.

I looked at some of the comments to my Barack Obama post this morning and I thought they were fantastic. There was one lady who was irritated with me, I guess because I called Barack Obama an African American.

Well, normally one would say, "Well, his dad is African," as some of the other folks who were on the site pointed out and, "He is American," so that would make him an African American, in the truest sense of the word. The irritated comment was from Helen King. Well, Helen, he brags about his family but I’m sure he just wanted to make folks who were concerned about whether or not he could deal with white people feel better about the fact that half of his family is white. You know, so he’d be able to talk to white folks without freaking people out.

Helen said, "You never hear him brag about that." Well, in fact, he showed mama’s picture and grandmama’s picture and granddaddy’s picture quite a bit. We see pictures of his black father, but it’s kind of obvious he’s black, so he wants to let everybody know that he also has white in him. I guess in a funny way it means that he’s a well-rounded American. And just for the record, "African American" is cool, and although I do enjoy seeing the word Negro, one doesn’t generally say African Negro. One would just say Negro.

She may ‘smart’ in the Alaska back woods. But in San Francisco—-her values suck and she isn’t. So get you own life.

She is a smart cookie. So what is your point? I will still cast a vote for my country’s future and not for my country’s future demise due to perpetual war and corporate owned politicians.

Winery, speaking of the glass ceiling, this is really a waste of all those cracks! McCain couldn’t have done worse if he had picked Anita Bryant !

DeBurca, don’t up set yourself, you know we can not… let this happen, …We are going to have to get out there and beat the bushes, and make sure people vote…Maybe we could get persons to use their cars… to pick up persons t.. to make sure they get to vote. With the gas prices….maybe we, in our cities could put on fund raisers… we can not allow, them in office any more.No more of this any more, we have got too take our country back.

Obama’s speech was nothing more than a bunch of old and boring rhetoric from the old and failed Democratic playbook! Sarah Palin is more qualified to lead this nation than Obama who is nothing but a pompous stuffed suit with ZERO REAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS to his name! People who live in glass houses should not throw stones! Wake up people! This isn’t a socialist country and the government can’t solve all your problems!

Fariba—-I see all the Freepers have arrived. Some one notified some group of imbeciles to come running to the support of your backwoods, gun toting Mary Kay makeup lady. Isn’t there some Moose Crossing she should be marking somewhere?

This week Diego and I spent a goodly amount of time in the woods talking about the different trees and looking for salamanders which we didn’t find, but what we did find when he overturned a large tree stump––he’s very strong for being only five–––were dozens of crawling worms. Being the compassionate child that he is he shoved the stump back so not to disturb their home, but he did say he thought some of them wriggled away. Never in a million years did I suppose they could have found themselves on this site.

Oh phyllis…..WORSE than worms….. a desperate viral attack by malicious little swiftboat-bots trying to shout down our common sense, and insult us with the idea they would be able to turn us against our own best interests. They all arrived about the same time (evidenced by their sequenced user numbers) and it is quite possible they earned redeemable points for their vile little mission. Pimped out for what, a hat or something? Fortunately they were so illiterate and hateful that they likely undermined their subversive agenda by tone alone? Hate to admit it but they made me appreciate some of the voices with whom I often disagree here at Wow. At least those voices are telling us what they think instead of spewing toxic waste all over the thread with the obvious intent to foul the discussion. With any luck they will skulk away soon, and the next invasion target will quickly recognize and reject them too. (I was especially offended that they targeted Whoopi’s discussion, and hope she will exercise the site rules and clean house…..there is some unequivocally false and offensive content posted.) Sadly, I suspect this is just the beginning, but it is obvious from the reactions here that we will all be working to keep the stump of reason on top of the vermin!
