Renata, Your responses are becoming increasingly tangential. Do you even “read” another’s post before you start formulating your word arsenal of repetitive, self-righteous, declarations? Where I come from they call that “mental masturbation” and it’s generally a solo act. Kara did NOT say she was voting for McCain. She said if you represent Obama (paraphrase) she would then vote McCain. Do you get that? Can you read your audience? Are you able to see that you are doing your candidate a serious disservice. I am afraid I will have to relegate you to the likes of Dr. Mark Klein and “De-Klein” your posts as well if you persist in these rants.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/nancy-cohen-phd/clintonism-a-post-mortem_b… Clintonism: A Post-Mortem …What was Clintonism? Depending on your perspective, its distinguishing characteristic was either astute centrism or craven triangulation. Yet, at the heart of Clintonism, was a fixed assumption about the nature of the American electorate. Clintonism looked at the trends of voter turnout, a steady decline of voting from the 1960s onward, and saw a citizenry that was tuned out and turned off by politics. The only way for Democrats to win was to narrowcast to the few people who were still listening and whose votes were still up for grabs. Bottom line? Ignore the rest, the millions of nonvoters. The essence of Clintonism was this cynical electoral strategy. Then, as now, special deference was paid to so-called Reagan Democrats — white, working-class men. (I’ll have more to say about white working-class women on other occasions.) They still voted, and their votes swung between the parties. They had seemed to respond in 1980, 1984, and 1988 to conservative social and cultural appeals. (Often enough — Reagan’s “welfare queen” invention, Bush senior’s Willie Horton ad — these appeals were racially-coded.) The signature gestures of Clinton’s 1992 campaign, the Sister Souljah smackdown, his attendance at the execution of Ricky Ray Rector, were played to this audience. To wit, Democrats must take the electorate as it was — its size, its predilections — not as it could be. Bill Clinton didn’t invent the theory of the mythical swinging middle, but he honed it into the Golden Rule for Democratic victory….

Thank you, Lily. I understand some just can’t — and why they can’t. America has changed — for the better. CHANGE is difficult, but change we must. The world is waiting and China has almost four times the size of our population. Ditto, India. ‘Good night Gracie’ is dead on.

In 1960 when JFK was elected, global population was 3 billion people. America was clearly a leader in the economic and technical arena. The world looked heavily to USA for solutions to the multitude of ailments and traumas. Today there are still many traumas and dramas, but America faces these challenges with 6billion people who have other possible solutions. The world has changed America is tuning in. America today needs the youthful sollutions that have been ennormously stimulated by Obama”s candidacy! Just look at the mean age in the most populated countries in the western hemisphere. The problems and the solutions reside in the same demo. The future is there. Lets get on that wave.

FDR’s was the Greatest Generation. JFK’s (that energy) was the Generation that made the US the richest country in history. (1950) Today, as Al Gore said, we need to become a Generation of Heroes. We already, around the world are billions who are marching in the same direction and need Marshall Plan like programs and a leader who can articulate visions (like FDR/JFK) and I feel that Obama is the one. He’s energized the young and has gotten the world’s attention. The power of that can’t be understated. By young I mean RFK’s definition…..as a state of mind and possibility, and attitude for adventure over comfort. Rupert Murdock said on tape (if hadn’t seen/heard it myself would not believe it) that 80% of the people are hurting and fed up with WDC….he said McCain is a friend but he has problems, and people want change. He said he hopes that Obama is as good as his promise…and that he is eager to meet him.

I just heard on the tube that John McCain is also giving an important speech later tonight. Wouldn’t it be a hoot if HE announced that HIS running mate is Hillary??!!??

Conservative pundits and voters have supported HRC and kept her Campaign going since February. HRC has validated John McCain as superior to Barack Obama. Perfect match — then, HRC’s supporters don’t have to write her in and/or ask her to run Independent (if they can raise the money and vendors are willing to extend her more credit). Perfect happy ending for the “Goldwater Girl.” Appalachia will jump on board immediately. New York will shrink with even more revulsion that we voted for HRC twice, despite the Iraq War vote we were against — and validated her in 2000 when she came here and couldn’t point to Wall Street standing on Broadway. Things might align perfectly after all. Then, everyone will be able to see clearly where each side stands and what they stand for — instead of constant triangulation. I like this, daisygrrl! Works for me!

…and Rush Limbaugh and Pat Buchannan would just LOVE a joint McCain/Clinton ticket! Should make every Democrat cringe, but it doesn’t. The Party is divided and Barack will have to make the best of it as he did from the get go, when he was mocked by Clinton Inc. and (still, amazingly? dah?) not being taken seriously. Now, Howard Fineman is reporting HRC wants to be asked to become VP as a matter of “pride.” Kabuki-like. Very Presidential — in the George W. vein. Total ego. Barack’s team is responding they would have to be guaranteed she would NOT accept. Hillary’s surrogates are saying - however, he CAN’T TAKE ANOTHER WOMEN. Very feminist and, as usual, the Clintons have no long tails for anyone else. HRC is NO SUFFERAGETTE. Women need to wake up.

Hillary Clinton and John McCain have been triangulating Barack Obama (double-teaming him) since February - and, even on his victory night, it continues. What else can TWO losers do? Do you EVER year John McCain speak to the dismal last 7 years? We would have to wonder what else could possibly happen = under Bush/Cheney? Yet, nothing do we hear during this awful, patronizing and mocking “speech.” MOCKERY didn’t work for Hillary Clinton, so I guess he has hired Mark Penn and Burston. Same tired strategy. Just try, for a moment, to think about what the young voters are thinking when they hear this “speech” during primetime — during, what is a Democratic Nomination based upon voters STILL VOTING and delegates being assigned? Pathetic. John McCain couldn’t get airtime and/or a little crowd together — any other way. That’s a FACT.
