Well, maybe Tom Brokaw was right if women here think that Palin has changed the world. I for one would like to know what she has done to change the world. Was it her work in medicine, charity, women’s rights around the world?? I know I am totally confused by what it means to change the world.
Carol, my dear, it may be as simple to explain as a high degree of name recognition. Many of the lesser known women, dahling, are responsible for changing the lives of many for the better, but may not be as high on the radar during this contentious election.
Perhaps you are not confused, dear. Perhaps you are simply better informed.
Carol,
Maybe Palin made the list because she has certainly managed
to Piss off a lot of women…………me being one of them.
(excuse the swear word…….in England it’s used loosley……..it just
says a lot. Just like the F word does.
Dona,
So pissing off women gives credence for Changing the World???
Sorry still don’t get that vote and am totally ashamed by the Wow voters. The rubric for this vote should have been clear.
This was supposed to be about “the world” not about America. Palin has done nothing to change the world
Carol,
You misunderstand my comments………….
Yes, I believe that Palin has changed the World………..in
a very negative way. She has certainly made us aware
that there are women here who don’t care about the quaility
of a woman………….just the fact that she’s a women excuses all
her stupid remarks. She’s a dangerous woman……….We should
fear her. If she ever gets into an important position she could have
control over our lives…………that scare’s the heck out of me.
Stupidity and lack of intelligence is not the kind of person I want
to be in control of any part of my life……..how about you?
Sorry Dona,
That is still not a good reason to vote for her. IMO, This should have been viewed as a positive choice, not negative.
It’s a slap in the face to the many women who are out there doing good things for people around the world and in their own communities.
I was hoping to see positive role models chosen for this, especially on a site for women.
Carol,
I voted for the woman who was chosen First by the majority…………….Oprah
Why women would vote for Palin is beyond me. Although a lot of women on
this web site Wow absolutly loved her………….I guess they were the 10% who voted for her.
I couldn’t stand her………….had no respect for her…………..
Thank God Obama Won…………….now we don’t have to worry about her for at least 4 more years.
Personally I hope she goes back to Alaska and I never hear about her again.
We Won………President Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dona,
Yes, Dona!!!
America has spoken!!!!!! And we lived to see an historic event!!!!
I am not surprised Oprah is up at the top…although I am sure there are some ordinary women doing extraordinary things that need to be on this list!

Oprah has a better publicist, but surely that women out there inventing things and making peace happen are at least her equal, even if their names are little known.
Misty, I love your wesite! Thank you for sharing! I am one of the ordinary—trying to do the extraordinary. http://www.okobos.com
It would be inspiring to hear more about the ordinary women who are committed to bringing positive change to the world! Michelle
Elizabeth,
Of course there must be thousands of women out in the World who are doing
wonderful things……….Like all the Mothers. Rearing Children is one of the
hardest jobs in the World.
I don’t think that is a reason to demean Oprah. I for one voted for her in the top position. Mainly because I can see and observe her charitable acts…….her kindess to those in need. Her generosity to common ordinary
People. Her Light shines and spreds around the World. I for one have admired her for years………..She just keeps getting better.
I believe her love of mankind is genuine.
Please do not misunderstand me. I do admire Oprah. But consider the women who have won the Nobel Peace Prize; not too many of them were well known. See http://www.amazon.com/Champions-Peace-Women-Winners-Nobel/dp/074254026X
I HAVE HEARD AND SEEN SO MUCH IN MY 76 YEARS! BARACK OBAMA BEING ELECTED PRESIDENT LAST NIGHT TOPS EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE BIRTH OF MY CHILDREN. I STAYED UP MOST OF THE NIGHT AND COULDN’T HELP REJOICE IN THE REALIZATION THAT THE NAYSAYERS AND BIGOTS LOST AND A NEW DAY HAS BEGUN. LET HOPE BE THE MANTRA OF US ALL. LOIS TITHERINGTON
