What a difference a few decades can make eh? I love this one Liza! This one is getting framed and placed on my wall.

I so very much hope we will want to, Liza. What a feeling of positive energy in the air and diversity in action not just in words. Brava, Liza. (I entered ‘The New Yorker’ caption contest this week. What fun) Peace and grace

I hope we all remember how we feel today - full of hope and joy - in 100 days when we still have a bad economy, high unemployment, and global warming. It took years to make this mess - it will take years to undo it.

Lorraine you are absolutely correct[—we need to think ahead—far ahead; but tomorrow is a time to rejoice. Then we’ll see what happens.

Finally, Liza! You’ve illustrated something that has crossed my mind, too. (I thought I was ever fated to admit no entiendo.) And Lorraine Bates, that’s where my mind went as well. I hope we can and will remember these blissful days …

Such a sweet little cartoon….such a lame caption. I resent women being continuously portrayed as airheads. We all love the Obamas…no matter who we supported, we are thrilled by the excitement and promise, but let’s be realistic, we don’t know how this will play out. We can only hope for the best.

Liza, The caption captures our hopes and dreams for the country. Nothing wrong with that :) Thanks for putting a smile on my face once again.

Some of my best friends are airheads…..some of them are blondes….the ones I love the most are airhead blondes who continually forward me the e-mails with the airhead blonde jokes……’Member what they said about the “movement” having no sense of humor? High time we got over that…and get on with it….and, natch….hoping for the best….and maybe this time we’ll get the best…….

I’m with you Liza! But I will just be satisfied if we can somehow hold on to this feeling of being in it together again, of Americans being united behind a cause and that we as a nation surprise ourselves by answering Obama’s call to service for our country.

Maybe we should let him actually take the oath of office and be the president for a couple of months before we have the coronation.

I don’t think you understand the whole movement behind him. This is a shift that has as much to do with the citizens of this country as it does with Barack Obama himself.

Hey, thanks for the link. I just read the article and I enjoyed it and I feel everything personally that was described in it. I guess it’s hard for me to take that leap of faith that a public servant can transcend just being another politician, but if anyone can do it, it would be Barack Obama.

You’re welcome Gianna!

Airhead? I don’t think so. This woman is just enjoying the moment of hope. I realize (as does this cartoon woman) that reality will set in very very soon. But many of us are dreaming, and that is not being unintelligent!
