Happy Inauguration Day to everyone at wowOwow! As the President-Elect has just stepped into the church I thought I’d take a moment to say thank you to all of you for your camaraderie during the long, contentious campaign and the optimistic transition period. I appreciate the wonderful support and sharing of thoughts and informative information with those of you I often agree with; and for those of you I often disagree with, thank you for the opportunity to hear opposing views and to vent my own! (My family would thank you too, if they knew how much venting you saved them from!) However you choose to spend this day, I know there will be plenty of smiles and tears to go around! In only a few hours we will have our new President, God Bless him, his family and all of you, my fellow citizens… we will need it as we do live in “interesting times”.

TYPO: is there such a thing as “informative information”? Well if there is… I got it here!

WEll De when you take into account 8 years of disinformation, I guess “informative information” is quite ok ;-)

Oh DB — You and Diana T have been the greatest inspiration to me; it is for ME to thank YOU, and tonite I do so. You two are always so well informed — always providing links to other sites to back up your “opinions.” Both of you have opened my eyes to what it means to be politically well-informed. Recently Diana asked you to stay “in touch” with her, and it dismayed me to think that one or both of you will no longer be participating at this site, now that Obama is POTUS. Please don’t leave — the rest of us need you to keep the bar high!

I have no plans to leave anytime soon! Thank you for your kind words…. thought Diana is much more mature and level headed than me, she doesn’t let herself get into the more nasty exchanges! ( :

Good to know you will be around awhile! Today has been incredible, but I did not want to have the elation tempered with a pending farewell!

DeB, Can you believe the people pouring into the city?! Metro had already passed 200K through before 7 this a.m. And, NPR talked to a little lady who insisted on being there….she is 105 yrs. old! Loved Michelle’s outfit; it’s Isobel Toledo.

Just think, DeB, Belinda, Frank, Suzanne, Joan, Dabney and all the rest of my new friends, we started this process talking together, and here we are! And, I think we are entering a whole new chapter for our nation….blessings to all!

Yes, Diana, and none of us were slaughtered in the process–––at least as far as I know. What a trip!

It’s a very great day….my only disappointment was Michelle’s outfit.. did not like it at all. Am very upset that Teddy Kennedy and Senator Byrd [great friends] both collapsed at the lunch. Hope they both are all right. Could just be a medications imbalance for Senator Kennedy. Hope he is OK. He looked great…maybe just tried to do too much in one day. Senator Hatch is a friend of his…and he went to the ambulance with him with Senators Dodd and Kerry and said he smiled and and looked as if he’d be alright. My son called from Europe and all of us have been on our laptops and watching CNN. Today’s my brother’s b-day and 6th month’s since his death so we all have appreciated the distraction of all the events.

Kennedy had a siezure, but I did not know that Byrd also collapsed there.

Byrd did not collapse. He was just very upset when Kennedy had a seizure and so he left at that point. They go back a long way.

I was not crazy about either dress today. Both had fussy textures and were unflattering. She looked cute in a sort of little girl going to church way, but I’m not sure she’d want to stick with that look for very long! I wish she would stick with her Chicago designer.
