Ro, “I am once again PROUD to be an American! It took too long, but I feel we finally have OUR country back, again! Yay!” Me too! And it so nice to have such a genuine, warm, good family in the WH and the darling girls and First Granny….now…where’s the pup?!

What a wonderful day for America!! I have been celebrating the Inauguration of President Obama, and watching the festivities on television, THE ENTIRE DAY … along with my elder son and his wife in San Francisco. I feel confident that President Obama is prepared to tackle the tremendous challenges facing this country … And I also believe that we, as a people, have been stirred to participate in doing whatever is necessary to bring about the changes which will put this country on the path to recovery. Thank you fellow Wowers for the riveting conversations and the wealth of information we have shared during in entire campaign of the brilliant Senator from Illinois who has become the 44th President of this United. States of America. I’m loving this historic moment … and still tuned in, here on the West Coast watching the latest happening!!

I suspect that is Janet Jackson’s face hiding a 13 year old boy who is skipping classes. Bad bad attitude exuded there.

lori, did you realize that jimmy carter kept us out of war and bequeathed peace to reagan’s presidency? he also bequeathed alternative energy efforts, but as soon as reagan got into office he got rid of the solar panels on the white house and the weatherization of homes for the poor. he also tried to get us to use personal virtues like saving rather than living on credit cards toward a national economic improvement.

Which outdated Republican “Crystal Ball” are you looking through? Tell us why you say you think Jimmy Carter was an idiot. Back up your statements with facts. Also, tell us what you know he’s done since leaving the office? Could it be You’re The Idiot?

It is early morning…”the day after”. Yesterday our house was full of family, we had a great buffet lunch and watched “the moment” together. We all cried. I cried again when I watched the Obamas dance to “At Last”…it was the song my husband and I danced to for our first dance at our wedding…perfect. In the wee hours of the morning, my phone rang, and from the other side of the world my son described the mood of his team and the other troops, and reassured his old Mom that he would come home safe. He said “Ma, its a brand new day, a brand new world.” Yes.

You can always count on me for a shallow opinion, but is anyone else tired of seeing waving armpits? I mean, I hope a dignified First Lady would always wear at least SOME sleeve. And, when it’s windy, how about a pretty hat to subdue the whiplashing strands of hair? It’s time we had a fashion icon again that is lean, leggy, and luscious.

Dear RS…Looks like careful and genuine observation to me……at least the armpits looked OK…I’m with you about the sleeves…at least she wasn’t one of those who felt that she could go sleeveless after a 250 pound weight loss without tucking it up……I concern myself with things like your “shallow opinion”, too..Wish I didn’t…and then I see 350 pound ladies in my turf (dare I sat at Wal-Mart?) with navel piercings.tattoos and tank tops..and some of them are fifteen years old and some are sixty…. So that makes me think I could go almost naked in public….and the bag boys taking my groceries are still gonna call me ma’am……oooo….. Yeah, sleeves are good but, trust me, turtlenecks and leggings are even better……….

It was beyond thrilling and I am relishing the wonderful euphoria of Hope swirling all around and through my entire world and being. Loved the whole day. Loved the piece by John Williams and the outstanding musicians who performed it. Thought Obama’s speech one for the ages. Loved the poem, though I did feel I might have delivered it better than did the poet herself. Was disappointed by the flub, but they’ve fixed it for the ages and as a bar against all who wanted so much to raise questions by doing a proper oath-taking in the White House. Loved the little girls and their outfits and our new First Lady’s outfit. Did not like the ball gown. Had hoped for an emerald green satin. Oh well, we now officially have a CLASS ACT in the White House! They are simply superb and our nation is going to be able to once again hold its head UP among the other nations of this world!

As a Hindu woman living in the U.S., I was delighted when Obama included Hindus amongst the religions he mentioned, when he stressed that despite the differences in our faiths, we are Americans. Although there are increasing numbers of Hindus living in the U.S., and most of us are prominent professionals, our faith is given not even a cursory mention in such events, although our faith goes back to almost 6000 years, spawned worthy off-shoots like Buddhism and Jainism, and is a faith that has never proselytized or converted others. Instead, what Hindus often see in the Western media, is work like SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, which depicts us as thungs on a killing spree, with our barabaric war-mongering Gods! It was a balm to the soul to see President Obama recognize our faith when he listed the others.

“You’ve come for the wedding, now stay for the marriage.” Father Miles O’Brien Riley On Tuesday, I watched with a renewed sense of hope and excitement the Inauguration of our 44th President of the United States. While each Presidential Inauguration represents an important moment in our nation’s history what struck me at this time was the especially exuberant levels of energy arising out of our citizens. I couldn’t help but get the feeling, like those who gathered in Washington DC and around the country, a keen sense of optimism. At the same time, I was reminded of a meaningful phrase that was communicated to the guests at my wedding, “You’ve come for the wedding, now stay for the marriage.” Our priest, Father Miles O’Brien Riley went on to advise our guests that while it is important to celebrate and take joy in the moment, the long term success of our marriage included the support and participation of our guests — our family and our friends to help foster our commitment to each other and our marriage, in good times and bad. I find this advice is fitting today for us as a nation. We have many challenges ahead, many of which are quite daunting to imagine. No single individual, political party or institution can alone make our country strong. Rather, it will take each one of us to do our share and take responsibility for our country’s success. It is a privilege to live in the United States. While some of us haven’t always felt proud of our past, we can certainly influence and shape our future. If we want it to be better, let’s make it that way. In addition to looking to the leaders before us, we need to look inward and ask ourselves what is our responsibility in making this country great. Instead of always looking to others to solve our problems, how can we, each day, do our part? How can we do this you ask? We can begin by staying involved in our government. By voicing our standards for a better nation. We can take part and lead in our communities, schools, churches and places of employment. It is we who embody these institutions. We need to work to put aside our differences and seek common ground. We need to open our hearts and our minds by talking less and listening more. No matter what our role, we need to become better examples for each other. We all contribute to the success of our country and the new administration going forward. America, we came for the wedding, now let’s stay for the marriage. Andrea Spudich The Responsible Leader Group, LLC

Arlen Spector is holding up ERIC HOLDERS confirmation so as to obfiscate investigations into the criminal formers. Call his office and/or your senators and insist that he allow the speedy confirmation of Holder! congresional switch board # 202-225-3121 Remember Spector was the man who came up with the single bullet theory in the JFK affair! I just want to share this with you readers of this posting. It came at ten thirty on the 20th….. Today was history. If I ever wondered what attracted me to history, I think I found out today. For years I have read history in testbooks and watched history on films and often wondered what it would be like to have been there. I finally have that moment… I was here on January 20, 2009 when “We the People…” finally meant ” WE THE PEOPLE”. It took 222 years and a lot of history, much of it unpleasant. Today, January 20, 2009, the Constitution preservered and is now a brighter beacon for the world to see. Democracy works. It works even better when “We the People” means “We the People”. Regardless of your personal politics, the historical significance of this day,,,,this one day,,,,January 20, 2009 is huge! Can you imagine those who were there to hear MLKjr and then were there again today to witness what many thought they would never see,,,what would never occur? Can you really understand that this man’s father was not able to be served in a restaurant, but his son was able to stand today and take the most sacred oath? Today, January 20, 2009, “We the People,,,” finally means “We the People..” The hard work starts tomorrow, but today was history. January 20, 2009. My proudest day to be an American. This message is from my son. He is a high school teacher here in Iowa. Today is my lad’s birthday. I am lucky to be his mom. His students are lucky to have him as a teacher.
