I can’t stop smiling. It’s been this way since the election. I am so proud of the American people because this election was a choice of what road we were going to take in this country and we chose the high road. It is going to be tough, I don’t think anyone has any illusions about the challenges we face right now. But it feels good to have a true leader at the helm who I know has the best interest of ALL the American people in mind and who is aware of the history of this country and what our Forefathers had in mind when they began this great experiment. Barack Obama also has a sense of our place in the world and respect for humanity.

I feel hopeless knowing that this man: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/12/obama-favreau.html is the one Obama chose to write the speech that will inaugurate his presidency.

btw, grab your screenshots of this photo while you can kids, Team Obama is doing its best to cleanse the Internet of any proof. It used to be all over the place. Not so anymore. Whitewash. Even Politico noticed. http://www.politico.com/blogs/anneschroeder/1208/Jon_Favreau_just_anothe…

disagree there. total whitewash. of course, eventually Obama will get his share of campaign turncoats - guys like George Stephanopoulos who are bitter about something and begin speaking out - that’s when more will be revealed about the sexism used as a tool in Obama’s campaign… from Hillary’s emotional moment to Palin’s wardrobe to the spin on why the Obama people had a full sized cutout of Hillary in their campaign headquarters in the first place. It may be years down the road, but it always happens eventually. Wait for it.

Considering the past 8 years and the sad legacy Bush is leaving, it is refreshing to have a President who wants to bring us together, rather than dividing us None of us live in glass houses, and we all have our beliefs, but although we may disagree, it would nice if we at least respected our differences

I for one will celebrate a new beginning for our nation. And yes, one of the toughest we have faced since the depression. But my parents and grandparents survived and so will we. I know there will be some negativity on this thread and others that celebrate the inauguration, but I would hope those of us who want to celebrate ignore those comments and spread your positive feelings throughout these threads. God Bless America!!

I vividly remember how discouraged I felt eight and four years ago, and I recognize that there are others who are feeling exactly the same way right now. This is a good time for each of us to remember that the world doesn’t always turn on our personal point-of-view or belief system. Regardless of how we line up with Mr. Obama’s policies, I hope we can all try to mirror his positivity and calm under pressure.

It’s my understanding Barack is anticipating long work days and is extending an invitation to staffers to bring their children for informal dinners…what an incredible opportunity for the children to interact with one another as history is being made.
