A Princeton-trained physicist told ABC News this week that Global Warming is 'all bunk.' Do you believe in Global Warming?

“Global Warming”? I believe we have damaged the world, its animals and its oceans by severe pollution, mostly from the burning of coal and from the gasoline driven combustion engine. But whether the world is actually getting warmer because of too many people and too much crap being thrown around in it (like plastics for instance) I just don’t know. Warming and extreme weather could just be that we are in a precursor moment before another encroaching Ice Age and there’s not much we can do about that. It may just be that in a few thousand years, man will be wishing for more “Global Warming.” I certainly think we are polluting our environment in every way we can think of. Finding non-damaging energy sources is my chief priority. I am all for the development of nuclear energy for power (see the great example being set by the French) and, just incidentally, birth control all over the world wouldn’t be a bad idea either.

Are we really still debating this? Yes Yes YES, I believe in Global Warming. The fact that this guy went to Princeton doesn’t make him more convincing to me. Let’s not forget, Bush II went to Yale….

This guy from Princeton is a pretty clear case of “natural selection in action,” as water quality expert Dr. John Harwood might say. Global Warming doesn’t care whether we believe in it, any more than gravity does. It’s true, and we can turn blue debating it.

Agreed, I don’t think Gravity gives a rip whether we believe in it or not. I have just noticed over the years that certain parts of my anatomy are not in the same place they used to be, just the way the planet is not the same as it was when I was younger. Hmm…either we do what we can where we can or we go the way of the Dodo.

I agree whole-heartedly with Liz. We are doing a horrible job of being good stewards of our planet and that must be addressed. However, the weather on our planet is made up of averages and just because we may currently be trending warmer than historical records show, may not mean that global warming exists… who’s to say that the weather records that we have are not from a colder, wetter “trend” and now the pendullum is swinging the other direction.

Save the trees, save the whales, now save the world. Former Pres. Carter got my attention in the 70’s. We can do what we can for America and keep this issue of global warming in the spot lite but the world has a long way to go before they step up to the plate with us. I believe there are changes going on in our climate because I can see it and feel it. I’d like to see nation wide recycling, more water conservation, and a lot more of solar power. Liz, I’m with you on the birth control. I’ll even volunteer to pass it out.

Right. right. right!!!! And, last I checked, ignrant graduates of american universities were not on the endangered species list.

I am with Liz on this one. I believe we are experiencing climate change, and I believe we are polluting our earth. But I have a hard time buying global warming when it snows nine inches in my front yard on Easter.

No, I do not believe global warming is true. Look back only about twenty years, and you will see that other so called scientists were warning of “global cooling,” too. Don’t get me started on “Carbon footprints”, either! So many people who espouse these ideas are not themselves practicing environmentally caring practices! The earth shifting climate nuances periodically is nothing to deeply concern ourselves with, please!

Before we became wOw women I was writing a book in which an important issue was Global Warming. I read a lot about it, including about 12 books, each written brilliantly by a different expert. No two books agreed on almost anything. 2 and 2 do not always make 4 in the world of science, I am afraid, and I could not find any universal certainty about Global Warming. I was left feeling that only God knows, and deeply aware of how many things I don’t know and, I fear, nobody knows. I have tried to put 2 and 2 together on the subject which would be easier if I hadn’t done any research. So my unsatisfactory answer is that I Don’t Know. I Don’t Know a lot of things. I know only a few things very well. I don’t think anybody has the answers to Iraq, just how the financial future is going to work itself out or how the financial companies will do, what will happen to the universe or what happens to us when we die. It is humbling.

Liz Smith & Mary Wells - Hooray! Have we caused damage to this wonderful planet Earth - Yes! Do we need to take better care of this Earth of ours - Yes! Global Warming - who really knows. Maybe it’s part of a greater plan. I’m just tired of every year the media taking stories and putting a scare in us. What happened to that bird flu which was to kill millions of Americans? Remember Y2K. The media went on and on about about how disastrous it would be for us all. Wildflowers are blooming in California. I’m enjoying taking photographs and seeing how beautiful this world is. Global Warming or not, let’s just take care of Earth. Maybe the question of the day should be ‘What Are You Doing To Help Keep This World a Beautiful Place To Live?’ I just hope we do the right thing.

Keeping the world beautiful and taking care of our earth -those are ideas I can get excited about and I do all I can. Mary

Green is the new pink, my daughter tells me all the time, I believe in it and we are trying to adopt new ways.

I agree that we should take care of this beautiful place in which we live, however, I do NOT believe in Gobal Warming just as I do not believe in Al Gore. I do believe in Mother Nature and I trust her to make the correct decisions — not Al Gore.

Do I BELIEVE in it? Why, yes. I also believe in gravity.
