Let Your Hair Down!

Relax, let your hair down (literally — we have this gorgeous photograph of her in the June Vogue, with loose hair and a lot less foundation than she usually wears and she looks terrific), try to enjoy the campaign.

Cindy McCain Only Needs One Piece of Advice

Cindy McCain doesn’t need any advice except to appear a little more relaxed.

Get Fluffed Up, Cindy

Maybe get a new look, fluffed up. But she seems a-ok to me.

Iraq was not a terrorist nation under Saddam. Iraq was a secular nation with a dictator, who was brutal, but no friend to Al Qaeda and not training or sending terrorists to other countries. Al Qaeda wasn’t in Iraq in any substantial numbers before we invaded, destabilized the country and opened the borders.

Nato took over the international coalition in Afghanistan. There were a lot of dealings back and forth, but part of it was that since it was safer, more international investment would flow in and build the country. It was put under the Command of a French general, I am not sure whether he has been replaced yet. Our troops serve under him. When my son heard he was going to be deployed again, he said he would rather go to Baghdad than Afghanistan because word was, a lot of the work they did, doing security to build girls schools, etc., that were up and running, much of that had been destroyed. I am not sure as to the number of school, but they destroyed some. Anyway, word is, when Nato took over, more of our guys got killed. It is better now. This is a big world and we are not the only players in it.

NATO had to take over because we turned our focus to Iraq. We dropped the ball and now it’s a mess there. The Opium crop is booming, Al Quaeda is re-grouping and the women are back in burcas.

It sures does gall me that we need to give advice to every prospective first lady or actual first lady. I wonder if we would have been giving Bill Clinton advice. First lady (or first man, I assume) can be a thankless job with everyone looking at and listening to every word for some mistake. Yuck

How sad it makes me to read such unkind comments from women. None of us know Mrs. McCain and I have only seen her on TV a few times standing next to her husband. I think she is trying to be dignified and support her husband. She has had back surgery and a stroke ! My advice to Mrs. McCain would be don’t seek advice from the women at WOW. Seek advice from people that will be generous, kind and have a clue what it must be like to be in the public eye.

Hi Suzanne, Some wowomen are generous and kind, and some are not. Some are a pleasure; some are not. Maybe she could seek advice from some wowomen. She can decide which ones.

i think that people living at a certain level in our society don’t heed advice. however, cindy mccain might try to change her”look” slightly - if only ‘cause a change might feel good with all of the pressure i’m sure she’s enduring right now. i don’t imagine there’s much fun to be had when one is involved in a campaign like theirs but, she should try for some - sometimes.
