Joan Ganz Cooney Cautions George Bush

I hope he disappears from view which, oddly enough, I think he has the good taste to do until he writes a book, and then we’ll be subjected to all those silly defensive interviews again.

Liz Smith to Bush: Follow in Bill Clinton's Footsteps

I would advise him to follow the example of President Clinton and devise a huge international rescue effort of some sort. There he could be effective and raise lots of money to help people the same way he managed to endow his rich friends like the people at Halliburton, etc. when he was in the White House. The only way he can erase his dismal record is to do something dramatic, just as President Clinton has done for the AIDs initiative.

He has done enough. But thanks just the same.

Candice Bergen Prescribes Bush a 'Chill' Pill

George W. Bush should BE QUIET. For a long time. Then be appointed baseball commissioner. Play golf. Chill with his buds.

Marlo Thomas Can Refuse to Answer

The first thing that comes to mind is, "Go away!" But the great thing is, I don’t have to answer your question, because as of yesterday, I never have to think about George W. Bush again.

I wish he would do something constructive to clean up the mess he made - like work for the veteran’s or something - Jimmy Carter is the role model for what to do when you get out but George Bush doesn’t have the drive for that sort of thing so yeah, like others have said, he should go hide out somewhere in Texas

and actually, if he gets convicted of war crimes, he might be in jail!

Chips AHoey, sorry but your dream will never come true. Will never happen in the United States of America.

what, that he gets convicted of war crimes or that he does something positive with himself?

Our X president would be a wonderful addition entry level to any of the 99 cent stores around. Texas. He could sell hot dogs and dog food. He left Obama the biggest mess and smiled trhrough his teeth in his bye bye speach. He had the whole world in his hands and blew it royally. I was wondering what was going on in his head. If it was his legacey it would have to be mostly half truths or lies. Mr. Bush started this whole world wide mess with Irac.and now we seem to be at an impasse. The other countries were against us for this act and our enemies who are finatic want to see not only Zionism but Americanism wiped out. The old saying “You can get more bees with honey than vinegar” seems apt at these times..

First, enter a Scrabble tournament so that all his words can be challenged. Second, let Laura lead a life in the big city for a change. She deserves it. Third, don’t expect to be asked to go on the campaign trail because Repubs will not be calling that quickly. And lastly, force him to watch the evening news and read newspapers so he can learn to get a grasp on what is really happening in the country and around the world.

Hi Brooklyn…there has been some comment in MSM today (left-leaning if truth be told) speculating on whether or not Obama will begin going to the funerals of those who have fallen in Iraq, etc….or be in evidence when the coffins come home…We’ve never seen that….weren’t “allowed” to see it, apparently…..

And “waste our beautiful minds” with those images? the following quote from the Bush matriarch I think speaks volumes about the whole clan: “Why should we hear about body bags and deaths,” Barbara Bush said on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on March 18, 2003. “Oh, I mean, it’s not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?”

Dora….I don’t want to see it either….Not now, not ever…and that’s the point…..I only put it out for comment…….I don’t know if you remember the Vietnam era, but that war was in our living rooms at dinnertime…every night..(that was in the days when parents and their 3.5 children had TV dinners together)…count ‘em …three channels….I think it turned everything around…in terms of getting out of that war….Oh, it occurs to me that maybe you were being sarcastic……I hate to be so SLOW on the uptake……I do, in fact, think that if it were on 567 channels daily and incessantly, it would be long over……. the graphic horror we’ve been “spared”….. to our credit or detriment?

I thoroughly agree, Georgia, and I was trying to be sarcastic, I found that quote to be horrific and it’s hard to even be able to put a snarky spin when trying to make a crack about it. I do remember Vietnam and seeing those images on TV and having my 5 year old brother crying because he was terrified of having to go to war. I was struggling with what to think about the original question on this post, I think that personally I would rather not ever have to see or think about any Bush ever again, but then again rather than slipping into collective denial about the things that went on during those years I think we have a moral obligation to demand accountability.

Hi Dora…thank you for your response..and clarification…..I’m sending this to you “cum grano salis”…with a grain of (sarcastic) salt……I grew up with a very REE-AL Old Testament god…(better say capital “G” god)……You know, “you’ll burn in hell for” this that or the other…”.God’ll strike you dead for that”, etc……. It informed my behavior until I decided that I didn’t need a mean old daddy……another story altogether….. Anyway, I think GWB might be best punished by a plague of locusts, a serious episode of disfiguring boils, spending some time in the belly of a whale, cleaved in twain by lightning….you know, something sort of familiar…….Deus ex machina in a really bad dream saying….”Buddy, you really effed it up….” And, hey…….I’m not vengeful……..He hasn’t been accountable so far……I’d like not to hear about him, either…..let’s just let the “Harr Parr” do more to GWB than mere mortals could…..Let him be struck dumb….(.never mind, that already happened)……..I said I would quit gloating/bashing by sundown today…..tick,tick,tick,tick,tick………….
