If Whoopi Goldberg Could Pick Obama's Running Mate ...

I would like to see Barack choose Michael Bloomberg or Bill Richardson.

Why Obama Should Choose Hillary for Veep

I’d be happy if he chose Hillary but since I don’t think that will happen, I can’t think of anyone else whom I think would really enhance the ticket. I guess a governor who might help bring in a state would be the smartest thing to do.

Think Again, Obama

I’d say if he wants to really win, he should rethink Hillary Clinton. It would be good for women and for the Democratic party.

Why Mary Wells Can't Pick a Running Mate for Barack Obama

I don’t have a favorite for Barack or John McCain. I am inspecting all the states and am not sold yet. I bet both gentlemen stay up nights twisting and turning and grinding their teeth on this question.

Ladies, I haven’t the foggiest. I keep hearing of people that I am not that familiar with. I don’t want Richardson. I think he isn’t focused enough. He might bring in more Latino votes. Who knows? Oh well, we shall see in a couple of weeks.

I’m suspecting it may be “none of the above”, that he will do something totally surprising….. l although I saw Gov. Tim Kaine on Charlie Rose the other night and was VERY IMPRESSED ! My husband & son are rooting for Joe Biden, although he does tend to suck the air out of a room. Just PICK someone, already, I can’t stand this.

Loved your quip on Biden––sucking the air out of the room. Always liked Joe but there’s a whiff of super-stardom about him and being a highly respected senator suits him, I think.

Jow Biden knows more about foreign affairs and probably has better relationships with world leaders than any other candidate. He fill in the spots that Obama is spotty, and has been in the senate long enough to know how to get things done there. If the Republicans are interested in experience and vision, Biden and Obama are the ones we want. Not that what I think makes any difference whatsoever whether I voe or not.

No Way-No How -No McCain
I forgot about Mayor Bloomberg….that would be great with me. I’d like to see a Cabinet level Environmental Czar and that would be Bill Richardson.

Somebody with foreign policy experience and/or military experience.

bonnie, never let it be said this couldn’t happen: i agree with you.

Yes, but he better be very careful of who he selects because it is very possible people will start wishing the ticket were reversed and that the running mate was the nominee and the senator was the VP.

I agree with you Bonnie - someone that can be a true advisor rather than just a shadow.

I would like to see Joe Biden , but I doubt it will happen. Of course Hillary would be my first pick .

I too, would be happy with Biden or Hillary. I don’t see how this can be a valid poll when Hillary has not been included in the choices. Yes, the prevailing wisdom is that she will be not be chosen, but since none of us know for sure why exclude her?

Would Hillary accept the position? What has she said about this? Obama’s choice, I would think, would be based on whether the person could take over the reins–––that’s number one. Number two would be someone who would be complimentary––bring in votes from lagging states and/or as Suzanne suggested an environmental guru. He will have quite a few foreign policy experts in his cabinet and the military experience may be useful but certainly not necessary.

No surprise to anyone, I’m sure, but I would prefer it not be Hillary. Since she’s slated for Tuesday’s speech at the convention, I don’t think there’s much chance in that anyhow. I’m not a big Joe Biden fan - “sucking the air out of the room” is a great description! I like Bill Richardson, I like Tim Kaine, I like Kathleen Sebelius, and, believe it or not, I like Chuck Hagel. I think a bi-partisan ticket would be wonderful.
