Caroline Kennedy for President? She's Got the Name, Brains and Looks

With her name and her money she can pretty much do anything she likes, so why wouldn’t she go for broke? She could be the "other" Kennedy to attain the White House in the next few years if she puts her mind to it. She has no scandals, she has a husband and children, she could put together the apparatus.

She has already been mentioned as a possible vice-presidential choice by Obama, though I think that’s far-fetched. She has no executive experience. But she’s great-looking, well-financed, well-educated and natively smart and has those historical antecedents. If she wants, she might well become the first woman president.

Least Likely to Run for Office?

I don’t believe Caroline Kennedy will run for office. She is among the most private people I’ve ever known; she is anything but a self-promoter, and she is neither outgoing nor particularly impressive as a speaker. It’s hard for me to imagine her mixing it up with crowds and shouting through a microphone at some 4-H Club pig contest. Whether or not she’d accept an appointment to a job in Washington is anybody’s guess but I’d bet no because I don’t think she’d move away from her children and husband.

Chelsea Clinton, Commander in Chief?

Caroline Kennedy. Not a chance. I agree with Joan on this. She is admirably free of all that is required for a politician and one of the most retiring, authentic, private of people. Against all odds. Chelsea Clinton, however, seems to be a great prediction. She handles herself beautifully on the podium and has grown tremendously during her mother’s campaign. She has the right stuff and might go far if she wants to.

She’s brilliant and an excellent writer. She has no personal experience as an elected official, has not run for office, hasn’t indicated publically she is interested. I think she would be a wonderful advisor but let’s not try to elect her. Obama already has a lot of problems as people bring up his relative inexperience.

Well it appears that some of the wow founders actually know Caroline Kennedy so I’m going to have to go with their asessments. And if she is truly the authentic private person Candice says she is… then like Candice says… not a chance.

She and her co-author Ellen Alderman even wrote a book entitled The Right to Privacy. I think she feels pretty strongly about it. What about the Supreme Court? It was a terrific book, BTW.

Gosh, Elizabeth, I hadn’t even thought of that. She would make an excellent Justice!

Remember what vice presidents are really for. I say no.
